Default Scented embossing powder question

Okay this is pretty basic but I want to make sure this is how others do it. To make a red cherry with the cherry scented embossing powder I first stamp the image in versamark, then with cherry ink and then apply the embossing powder.
Thanks!

That is how I would do it. I would also heat from underneath the paper, to makes the finish much smoother. You may already know that but I though I would share for those who haven't thought of doing that.

I usually just use the ink colour I want and then emboss. I'm not sure why you would need to stamp in versamark and then your ink unless the cherry ink is a dye ink and dries too fast.

I second that emotion ^^^ I don't know why you would need to stamp twice.. But otherwise that sounds right!

Sometimes I'll stamp twice (not onto the paper, but stamp into the versamark then directly into the coloured ink then onto paper) if the ink is dry or if it's not a good ink for embossing..

Just a note on the scented EP.. If you're not going to give the card right away seal it in a air-tight bag. That will help keep it's scent.

Just a thought...If you are giving it away to someone, be mindful that some people have allergies to scents, migraines or breathing issues.. Not to be a downer, but I have trouble with any kind of scented products...Just a heads up...Most people are fine... I had someone send me a rose scented stationery and I had to give it away.

If you're using a dye based ink, just ink up the stamp in Versamark, then add the red ink and then stamp. It won't hurt your ink pad and it will keep it sticky for embossing.

Ditto with perfume allergies. I'm not as bad with perfume allergies as my husband, but a few minutes with a bad perfume means a migraine for the rest of the day.

I wonder what those scented embossing powders smell like anyway? Maybe my demo has one to test on my nose.

I have problems with scented products too but haven't had any reactions to the scented embossing powder!

Did you know you can make your own scented embossing powder by mixing Koolaid power in with your embossing powder? That way you can make any "flavor" that's available and for really cheap! Here's one I did just on the orange slice. My granddaughter loved the "scratch & sniff" and so did her dad!

Can someome tell me who makes the scented embossing powders and where to find them ? There is so much focus on flowers in cardmaking right now...and I'd love to add scents to my blooms !

Go to your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator I love the scented powders. I think they give a nice scent without being overwhelming. My favorite is the Cherry.

Yes it works great. Besides the orange slice on the popsicle card, I've also used it for the "icing" on a birthday cake. Seems to work best with solid or bold stamps best rather than fine or detailed ones.

Stampin' Up! carries vanilla, melon and cherry scented embossing powders! They do smell yummy!
And...
Yes! You can create your own with Kool-ade! Really!
I just put some clear EP in an empty pill bottle or brad container the mix in some Kool-ade about 1/4 Kool-ade to 3/4 EP. Any scent will do and you even get some color fromthe Kool-ade too! Lemonade is my favorite!
**Just be sure to use the kind from the foil packet that you would have to mix sugar with if you were making it to drink. The pre-mixed canister does not work! The sugar burns when you emboss it and it really stinks! The sugar-free packet doesn't work either. It just turns lumpy.**
Try it! And have FUN!
