Default Need Motivation...

Hi All,

I have a room full of supplies...and they just don't zing me anymore. I want to scrapbook. I miss scrapbooking. I feel the urge, and as soon as I stand in my room, I lose it.

And the really sad part: I can't find anything that I like at the scrapbook store! Shocking, but true.

Part of it is, there aren't any classes around my area anymore. 59 miles to the nearest store, and it was sold and gutted. Not my favorite place any more.

Guess I am looking for ideas. Tips. Tricks. Get me back in my supplies (my happy place).

Do you have a friend that might sit and scrap with you. Sometimes just working with someone else really is motivation. Also more fun than working alone. If not find a challenge that you can enter to help give you an idea and a timeline too.

Good idea about the challenge. No friend for scrapbooking. I am the only one who was really go-go about it. And after our local shop closed up, I taught classes for a bit, but then started teaching school. That dried up. I stopped selling on eBay. I think that might be the problem. There is no push to even make anything... :(

try clearing a place, grab a picture or two and some stuff and just start! sometimes that works for me when I'm in a stump. Seems to help to just start handling the picture and the decorative paper and cardstock and embellies and off Ii go!

I stop and start in spurts, so I understand your pain. Sometimes I like to just look at pictures and then I think I should scrapbook those!! Start small, one or pages and make it easy!! Want to virtural scrapbook??

It sounds like you might be getting overwhelmed in your scrap room. Maybe this will help. Choose a few photos that really speak to you, and that you really want to scrapbook. Select some cardstock and patterned papers that coordinate; ; choose a few embellishments; grab your basic supplies; and do your pages in another room. Remove yourself from all the supplies surrounding you, and limit the ones you're going to use. Good luck, and have fun!

I have gone to simple scrapbooking, like a Project Life style using Stampin Up. I used to make "old school" layout kits for my customers and began really dreading it. This new simple style has really sparked my creativity and motivation. You can see how I am doing it on my blog. LOVE IT!!! And I get so excited to scrapbook, when I have the time.

Check out the Scrapbook Challenges here:

Splitcoaststampers Scrapbook Challenges Forum - Information, Ideas, Discussion & More

We have a challenge several days a week. The Goals thread is a place where many Splitcoast scrappers go to encourage and inspire each other. If you want, you can post a personal goal as to how many pages you'd like to do for the week or year. There's no "requirement" or pressure--it just helps many of us get ourselves motivated. We have a gallery where we can go to check out each other's pages and leave "love" and praise for each other. The people are wonderful and friendly and helpful!

We always welcome anyone who wants to join us!
