2012 Cards for A Cause ~ MAY MISSION ~ Stamp from the Heart!
ORGANIZATION BEING FEATURED:
Pink Cross Foundation
This month we are featuring Pink Cross Foundation which is a faith based public charity dedicated to reaching out to adult industry workers offering emotional, financial and transitional support. Pink Cross Foundation supports women who are working hard to get out of a life of prostitution and porn. Many of them have been or are victims of human trafficking, some have been rescued from porn/prostitution businesses. Many of these women were involved in human trafficking first and then chose prostitution as a matter of survival, turning to what they thought was their only skill.
Charlene's church is building a home for these girls in Florida. The subject is being more widely discussed especially in the light of little girls going missing, like the one in Arizona most recently.
Thinking of you, Birthday, All Occasion...blank on the inside. The organization will use the cards as a means of reaching out and touching these girls, as a means of supporting them as they move through this transition in their lives!
SPECIAL RESTRICTIONS:
NONE
ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Please include an envelope with each card for purposes of convenience. Since these cards will be given to others, they should be blank inside. You may stamp inside, sentiments, etc., just no writing. Thank you!
MAILING ADDRESS:
The cards should be mailed to:
Pink Cross Foundation
6077 Coffee Rd. #4PMB 33
Bakersfield, Ca 93308-9414
Fellow SCSer's, thank you for spreading your SCS love! Please feel free to mail your cards all throughout the month of Mayl!
Once you have mailed them come back to us here and let us know they have gone postal!
Hi Linda! You are probably right, however, you probably do have a few that would be appropriate for adults....instead of sending a whole whole bunch, just pick out a few, send the ones you think would be most appropriate for adults and then hang on to your others. They will keep for another challenge in another month. Does that sound good?
What a wonderful group!!! I'll get started and see what I can come up with. By the way - is there a website about their group that we can visit to learn more about the charity?
Thanks so much Cindy for being so brave to challenge us to reach out to these women. I can only imagine the impact a handmade card filled with the love that went into it will have on their hearts and minds.
Love changes things...thanks to all the ladies here for loving and giving.
Charlene
Totally agree with Charlene! I'll be making cards this weekend and am looking forward to creating something fun and uplifting, hoping to help empower and possibly help to heal these poor women with our outreach of love. Thanks for the Mission!!

I've got 15 cards going out in Monday's mail.
Charlene, will the Pink Cross Foundation be expecting our cards? Do I or should I put a note in the package?
Thanks!
Maggie

Reason: Adding more cards for a total of 23
Once again! After not being around on this thread, I come back and see you all are coming through again with flying colors! So awesome! You all just rock! The recipients of your cards will be just thrilled from time to time, to receive a hand made card as a little pick me up! Thank you all!
hi mothermark. i have been searching for you. i kinda commited myself to do this for the next 12 months. each organization you pick has become a personal mission for me. thank you for all you do.
i would like to sign up for may's cause.
BeeHappy...I am happy! Giggle! This is very cool! Very cool! Its nice to have your commitment, which believe me, is not cast in concrete, so no pressure girlfriend but how nice of you to get involved and share your cards! You are very welcome...and thank YOU!!!
No need to sign up.....just send as many cards as you wish to the recipient named each month. There will be a new thread listing the information, address, etc. started each month.
I also sent you a private message (click on the little envelope at the top of your SCS screen) as I saw you commented in the Teapot Tuesday form as well. That is a little different than this challenge but both are great ways to bring a little happiness to those in need! Hugs to you!

I somehow missed this month until now...sigh. I have been a bit busy with home restorations. This is an awesome organization, my heart is near and dear to this one; when I was in Italy on a mission trip we where witnessing to woman just like these, my heart breaks fro these ladies. I will surely be sending cards out to this group.
thanks again Cindy for bringing these needs to our attention, I am grateful!
hugs

Hi guys! Thank YOU! Thank you all for sending cards, for doing your part! Whoo hoo!
Hey, Teresa......hang in there on the home front girlfriend! This destination does tug at one's heart! Its a sad situation but pure joy knowing they are changing their lives!!
Thank you all SO MUCH! Shelley is going to be blown clear off her chair when the total arrives. I'm working on another stash here...will add the count when I get a total.
I just saw this thread. I will go home and look at my stash of cards..I have at least 10 I can send..maybe even more! I will come back and post the total when I get them postal!
Quick question on the address. I am attempting to print a shipping label for my package of cards through Paypal. When I enter the shipping address above, I'm getting an error saying that the USPS is recommending a different zip code for that address. The recommended zip code is 93308. Then I went to the USPS website and entered the address and requested the zip code for the address and it came up with 93308 also.
just found this link and will be going down to my craft room to make some cards to be sent out tomorrow after work...looking froward to next months challenge..I think I will get my sister on board also and we can have a craft night to do this..double the fun double the cards...
I think my contact inadvertently droppped the 08 and put in the 14 when she sent the address. She's out of the country right now so I can't verify with her but I checked the PO as well and they list 93308.
Charlene....do you think that the cards that people mailed to the other zip code will eventually get there...I kinda think they will as I think the post office would route the package based on the city and state.......it might take a little longer but I bet they will get there......
I did change the address in the original post.....thanks for checking on that for us.....
