Hello everyone!!! I hope you had a great weekend and are ready to start your week with a little stamping!!!! I am really in my element when I can make a mess....soooo today's challenge is for everyone who likes to get inky!! We are going to make somebrayered paper elements....create a card or project with paper elements that were made from brayered cardstock. The instructions are easy peasy.....
1. Use a brayer to roll different colors of ink on a piece of cardstock or patterned paper. You don't have to make it perfect because you want to see the different shades, spaces, and patterns. 2. You can use different shades of the same color or use complementary colors...what ever strikes your fancy. If you have a spectrum pad, half the work is done for you! 3. Use dies or punches to cut out your images or stamp an image on the brayered cardstock, cut it out, and add to your project. 4. Now, if you are a rebel and want to do something different, cut your image out first, brayer the colors over it and then use it on your project. 5. You can use any stamped image or diecut as long as there is enough open space to see the combo of colors. 6. You can add a little texture if you want by distressing, embossing, or crumpling up the paper to add a little interest. 7. If you don't have a brayer, don't stress...sponging or just swiping the ink pads on the paper will be ok, too!!! 8. Have fun and make a mess!!!!
Thanks for a great challenge Joan. I was just thinking about looking at some brayer-ing videos and using the technique on a card. I'm one who doesn't like to get inky & messy, and I usually have a hard time with the brayer. But I see so many beautiful cards that I would really like to get better at it.
Making a smaller image, as opposed to a whole background, seems like a good place to start. Hopefully I'll be able to upload something Monday.
Wow Joan, can't wait to try this. Going right now to work on something.
Here's my card for today's challenge. This was lots of fun Joan!

Reason: adding link to my card
OK, I was thinking this was a challenge I could sit out when I read the title - but I DO have a brayer, and even if it's not the right one for doing background skies, I can certainly try this and laugh at myself. Hope I'll have time later, got to take a trip out and help my aunt with her printer after work, so I'll be late home.
Sounds fun! I'm NOT good with a brayer and never seem to blend things well but you did say you can leave space so you can see the colours! I can do that! LOL!
Joan- awesome challenge!
I added ink via a sponge to my watercolored flower- and I think that was what I was missing until I got your challenge! I used an embosslits "hi" die and a Hambo stamp pairing. Here's Friendly Mouse.

We are having cooler, rainy weather, so I was inspired to make this card- using Nestabilities' Crescent Circles and Nested Ducks dies- along with a mood du jour stamp from Inkadinkado. My ducks are sponge distressed and definitely are out of sorts! Here is Moody Ducks.
