Why do I keep getting an IE security certificate error on every blog I visit? This is driving me crazy. When I switch browsers all the blogs I visit look completely different, even the new challenge blog I spent days creating (which btw I'm looking for a new DT). Which browser do you use? Which one do you find is more user friendly?
OOps there's another pop-up - To help protect your security, internet explorer has blocked this website from displaying content with seurity certificate errors.
In Chrome the background image of the new blog doesn't show up. Is is showing up for me in Firefox though. I'm having someone design the new blog header and they use Firefox but can't see the background that I created in I.E. I had to screen shot a copy to her.
I guess I've just used IE for so long I'm just used to it. We use it at work, at the church and the library. I guess the only way to get rid of the error pop ups is by switching browsers.
Thank you for your quick reply. I'm just very frustrated right now.
Do you have something like Norton running as well? You might have more problems than just IE. I'm in chrome so if you want me to see if I can see the background, give me the link. Then we will know if it's your antivirus or something else.
I just had an IE update .. that's when this all began. I have a routine where I check certain blogs each day then my emails etc. It started as soon as my pc restarted. I'm even receiving "security certificate erros" here. I don't have Nortons. I had too much trouble with them in the past. I use AVG. I'm going to run another AVG scan then see what's what. Thank you so much for your help. The blog is Digi Haven.
My AVG scan came back fine. It must be something in the new I.E. update settings. Thanks again for your help. I'm going to switch over to Firefox. This means I'll need to rebuild my bookmarks etc. *sigh* Good thing I didn't have too many plans for this afternoon. LOL.
Does anyone know what the difference is between a www. before the blog and not having it? I'm finding the blog under both Digi Haven with the www and Digi Haven without it ... I'm confused.
Welcome to the world of multiple browsers. IE is the hardest for web designers to work with. The best site to design for is Firefox which typically will work perfectly in Chrome. Once you have the website working perfectly in Firefox, you need to debug for IE. More often than not you will need a new stylesheet for Internet explorer. (I was a freelance web designer for 10 years)

Thanks for the info. After I switched all my bookmarks over to Firefox my daughter told me that my son had been playing a game on my pc and turned back the clock to fool the game into giving him more points for something or other. It was the plants vs. zombies game. Anyway, that ended up being my biggest issues since I was receiving all kinds of error pop ups.
I wasted a good portion of that day working on the pc. He's not allowed on it anymore. Grrrrrrr....
I was there ... and finally took the advice of many friends. I now use FireFox. It downloads for free ... and those IE irritations are a thing of my past. ;)
I use Firefox as well. I will never forget the day I checked my blog from work with IE......my pages were blank, nothing was there....I freaked, as I did not have a recent backup! I posted online for help...everyone thought I was losing my mind as they could see the blog just fine! It was just my browser that had issues.

For the most part there is no difference. People can get to your website by using the www or by not using it. However, search engines like Google may see your website as having duplicate content which could penalize your page rank.
Again, not a big deal if you are just blogging for fun, but if you are trying to sell products and need people to find your site there are ways to make sure only 1 version is seen by Google.
