Default New Stampin Mist Odor?

This may have been asked before sorry if that's the case but has anyone else noticed the smell of the new Stampin' Mist? The old type smelled like roses to me but the new one is so different even my DH asked me what I was working with......pretty offensive to me. Just curious if anyone else noticed this...maybe the new one is a better formula????

Yes. It smells like straight bottom (as in, rear end). :/ I ended up dumping it out and making my own. The smell, quite literally, made me gag.

*spew* never heard it called "straight bottom". I'm still chuckling....

Ok, so I went and ripped open a new one I've got for a customer and it smells like my old one, um the rose smell... Maybe it's a bad batch you got ahold of. Curious to see more opinions on this one.

I have some more coming but if it still is "straight bottom" (LOL!!!!!!) I am calling Stampin Up!!! I did a search here on SCS and found a good "recipe" to make stamp cleaner and may have to resort to that.

I would love a change in scent - I can not STAND rose scented things so while I love my stampin scrub I buy stamp cleaner from my LSS.

I read a thread about a week ago saying that the new mist smelled like dirty diapers, among other things. The word is that both the small bottle, and the refill stink. Lots of people recommended the bubble gum scented one at either Mikes or AC Moore. I bought some, and suggested my new stamping friend do the same.

Thanks for the suggestion...maybe it's a trip to town to the craft store since I do need some cleaner. I read a thread about using glycerin and may try that if I can find some. We live a long way from anything commercial ! Maybe SU will have a reason why they changed or if it's just temporary if I call and ask them.....

I just recently finished the refill bottle I bought a few years ago, and the new refill -- no kidding -- smells like a Playtex tampon! I really HATE scented feminine products, and am debating sending this back. This last order has been such a headache, and it's the first one in over four years of stamping where I've had any problems. First I got a duplicate of the Flowers of Gratitude hostess stamp set, then many of my classic spots were frayed, lumpy, or had corners that were coming out of the base. The gold wide organdy is absolutely hideous in real life, and I'm definitely exchanging it for something else. I think I'm going to stop by Hobby Lobby when we pass through Florence on the drive back to Virginia and pick up some of that bubble gum scented cleaner everyone's raving about.

I noticed the odor as well. I shampoo'd my carpet the other day and that's when I realized this is what the new product smells like. Yuck......I hope they go back to the other formula.

OMG... the add at the bottom of my screen says, "Fishy Vaginal Odor." Ewwwww. I wonder if this is scanning the "stinky" topic, or picking up on the Fishy Friends in my gallery?!

Well, lots of people have been complaining about it and begging them to go back to the old scent for almost a year now and they haven't, so I wouldn't hold my breath waiting. :???:

Well this has been an informative (thanks everyone!) and hilarious thread as we started reading the matching ads at the bottom. I will be watching them from now on as someone or a computer is watching us !!!!!

ROFL!!! Just found this thread, thanks for the odor warning - and the ads!! Indeed!

I use Gmail, so am used to "related" but non-obnoxious ads like these. I'd much rather that than pop-ups. Me hate pop-ups.

I have to make a conscious effort to see these ads. Except sometimes when I go in to permanently delete any spam, I chuckle when I see "spam recipes" across the little ad line. LOL

Let me know if any of you start to see spam ads.....

I am with you about the rose scent, and the thought of "straight bottom" scent brings me to my knees! This is why I switched to unscented, non-alcohol baby wipes years ago and have never gone back to the sprays -- they are just too unpredictable for my sense of smell.

I love the bubble gum scented stuff I got last August when we were in MA. I just found it a month ago at my lss. Perfect timing as mine was about to run out. Felt funny asking MIL to send me some. I think it does a great job cleaning the stamps. My demo likes when I borrow her stamps because they come back cleaner than when she gave them to me.

The stamping mist is very smelly now. But I found that it works A LOT better than the one I bought originally. I just plug my nose when I am spraying it.

What amazes me is that Stampin Up employees didn't notice or report how offensive the odor was????? It certainly had to have been noticeable to someone there.

I wonder if changes in temperature has done that or if it is an old batch. Sounds like how perfume gets skunky. Like name brand fragrances that are sold at places like Wal-Mart. It isn't fresh fragrance (much older) and will get skunky sooner or has already changed in odor. My Stampin Mist has been smelling like roses, so it sounds like you have old stuff something that was exposed to extreme temperatures.

I just got the small spray bottle and a refill at Christmas time and both smell fine, which makes me wonder, too, if there was a bad batch somewhere along the way.

I just got a new refill bottle last week and it has a soft rose smell. Since I work in an infant daycare room I really know the bottom smell! Thankfully my refill does not smell anything like the bottoms I change every day!

Mine smells fine. My husband would tell you otherwise though. Every time I spray my cleaner pad he says "oh man....what is that smell". He plays with airplane glue and tons of other toxic stuff and he compains about a little bottle of stamp cleaner!

Default stampin mist odor

first off - say it isn't true!! i LOVE our cleaner smell !! better even
than the catty smell !! oh no... glad i have a BIG refill bottle or 2!!

second - you guys are making me hysterical -

"Yes. It smells like straight bottom (as in, rear end). :/ I ended up dumping
it out and making my own. The smell, quite literally, made me gag."

this has me howling - laughing to tears!! just today, helping my step-mom pack up stuff in her den to move, i noticed a really funky smell... she said she was worried that it was from their cat having piddled frequently in there. i told her no - not cat urine - it smells like a raw bottom - too awful!

next - i read this -

"Did anybody else notice the ad links along the top? How funny - they
must scan the content of the messages .. . .I tell you what - I'm not
clicking on "vaginal odor" ! Me no want those cookies!"

then this -

"the add at the bottom of my screen says, "Fishy Vaginal Odor." Eww. I wonder if this is scanning the "stinky" topic, or picking up on the Fishy Friends in my gallery?!"

and to top it all off -

"I got "Atlanta Pooper Scooper" as my BOTTOM ads!"

thanks guys!
