Saturday, March 31, 4 PM EST, TAKE THE LEAP: Jump Right In!
Title: Jump Right In!
Hostess: Heather (hcarnes)
Keyword: LeapVSBN06
Day/Date: Saturday, March 31, 2012
Time: 4 PM (EST)
When I first heard the VSBN theme, my first thought was all of the "big leaps" we take in life, things we JUMP right in to - marriage, commitment to a significant other, having children, moving cross-country, taking the trip of a lifetime, accepting a new job ... the list goes on. What big jump to your mind? What have you JUMPed into? This challenge focuses on the story - your story.
My challenge:
Create a page that tells the story of a big leap (JUMP) you took.
J - Just ONE. Chose some element on your page to highlight, but make sure there is only one (DSP, photo, color, button, flower, whatever you choose).
U - Unravel the details of your story in journaling. Bonus points for creating a clever title!
M - Movable element. Leap and jump both involve motion, right? Make your page interactive in some way.
P - Product alert! Choose a product, tool, or embellishment that you don't use often and remind yourself why you loved it enough to buy it!
Here is the GALLERY for this challenge...leave a little luv for everyone!
UPLOADING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. To be considered for VSBN Recognition, ALL VSBN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON Sunday, April 8, 2012
2. You have a total of 2 working hours to complete the challenge. Please be sure to write your description of how you interpreted this challenge in your Upload Description.
3. Please remember to put in the correct KEYWORD LeapVSBN06 when uploading your image; a wrong keyword means your submission may not be seen for consideration. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in this chat thread to be sure you layout is seen by the host and all visitors.
Heather your page is gorgeous! That dress, too! Wow!
Well, I got in on Mary_Pat's challenge late, so am getting that on. I will be back in a bit!

I have to admit I haven't gotten started on any of the challenges yet other than thinking about them. I started cleaning my craft room and it took much longer than I thought: organized, dusted, vacuumed...I even went through my scraps. Now I'm finally pulling out photos to scrap.

It actually wasn't my challenge, it was Michelle's but she was running late so I had to post; when I do that my avatar shows instead of hers. See you later Sharon!

Thanks. I'm running behind too! I'm surfing the gallery to get some ideas on my next challenge page.
This is a great challenge. Tough one, for me actually. Decisions decisions....
I'm going to use the picts from last weekend when we were with DS on a college visit and looking for apartments etc ... It's a big jump (at least for Momma, LOL) and right now it's on my mind for him so I thought worked for this challenge

now to see what wedding pics may not be scrapped yet...
I really had to think on this one! I am doing a little different. No photos! It will be my title page for my album for our trip to Panama. ( Trip of a lifetime!) Be back.

Hi AZscrapmom - you upload a photo of your page to your gallery, making sure to use the keyword LeapVSBN06 and your page will then be sorted into this challenge gallery!

I'm a sorry Heather! I normally capitalize when I need to. See? And now that I have a laptop to work with I can't log in!! I automatically log in with my phone.
Heather, this was a great challenge! I hope that my title is hightlighted enough, because , that is what is supposed to be hightlighted!
Here is Panama.
Thank you for hostessing!
Hmmm, I'll have to think about this one. I finished the other three, now I have to go pick up my mom from visiting my dad. Then DH will make dinner - two nights in a row!! WOOT! WOOT! Maybe I'll come up with an idea and have some time to upload/scrap later tonight.

No problem. I sometimes get used to not typing caps on my phone because it fixes it for me, and then I look illiterate (not a good feeling for an old English teacher!). Can't wait to see you page.
Love all of these pages! Thanks for playing. I'm plugging along to get caught up on the challenges. My mother took the girls to my nephew's baseball game and I couldn't resist a "real" date for dinner. Sad when you consider Jason's Deli a "real" date!
I am not sure I quite got this one.... It really was a big challenge for me
I made two pages one is simple and I think might fit the bill, and then as an interactive MDS project I have a hidden page that comes up when you click on the hot spot(sorry won't work in here)

What a great idea! I love the page(s). How did the audition go? It's such an honor to be able to attend the audition in the first place, because the USMC band is awesome.
Thanks for the challenge. I did my best to fulfill the requirements:
The big leap? Letting my daughter loose in the kitchen. I like control; I don't like messes, so for me, this was a big deal. It was also a big leap for her, as she had never baked and iced a cake before!
J - one daughter....that is the purpose of the page
U - a little journaling at the bottom, with a "Hey Cupcake!" title (which I think is pretty clever given the focus of the page)
M - my page is interactive in two ways (neither is technically moving on the photo, but here I think that two halves make a whole ;)---there is motion in the photo of my daughter icing the cake, and the page makes you want to touch it with all the texture (glitter, ribbon, roughed up edges etc.)
P - rubons are my product....I have lots and I hardly ever use them.
