CNY Country Stamping Get Together
Saturday, June 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Our Lady of the Rosary Parish [Catholic Church]
923 Cayuga Street
Hannibal, New York 13074
Join us for a day of stamping fun!
We are excited to host this get-together for swapping. I’m Barbara “Bo” Trommer (bopeep12345) and I’m excited to have an event in my neck of the woods. My friend Cheryl Gage (Love2Craft) will be helping me with everything.
Cost – $25.00 per person ($27 via PayPal). Your registration must be paid no later than 5 pm on May 4th. Mail your registration form and payment to me (info is in the registration form). There are no refunds, but you may offer your spot to someone else.
Here’s what’s planned.....
Mandatory Shoebox (Table) Project – There will be shoebox projects in the morning and the afternoon, so bring your idea and all the supplies (precut but not prestamped or prepunched) needed for making your project with a small group. Please use quality products. When our final count is in, you will know the table sizes and how many will be needed. Our plan is to have tables of 8 but we will post the final count when registration closes. You will need to bring three extra completed shoebox projects (which includes hostess thank yous, and one for your table so that everyone can follow it for directions). This project will generally be a full card, with layers and embellishment(s). Please provide any special adhesive that's needed. So, just to say it another way: Bring 3 completed projects + make up xx packets of materials needed to make your project. Make these something you’d be thrilled to get yourself. FINAL COUNT = 17 + 3 COMPLETED (AND A FEW SPARE PIECES FOR OOPSIES!)
--- EVERYONE WILL BE MAKING ALL THE PROJECTS ---
The projects will stay at the table and everyone will move from project to project.
Swaps – ALL SWAPS ARE OPTIONAL. You’ll know how many to make when we post the final counts, and you’ll have plenty of notice since the deadline is well in advance of the event. Each swap will include a +1 for a door prize.

Food – Please indicate on the registration sheet the food item you will bring to share. Please be specific; don’t just say “food” or “whatever you need”. Ideas: breakfast items, lunch items, including salads, desserts and snacks. We love to try your food specialties! Bottled water will be provided. Please BYO soda.
Fun Projects for All – We will have a few fun projects to "make and take" for everyone. These are projects that everyone can do using items from your goodie-bags.
“Garage Sale” – Bring your stamps and stamping supplies to sell or trade. If you are a demonstrator, please remember to follow your company's guidelines for selling current items and retired items. Sorry but we can’t be responsible for missing items so bring things at your own risk.
Goodie Bags – for everyone! Everyone will leave with a bag of fabulous goodies. The goodie bags will all have the same value with some variations in colors, etc. Have some thoughts on what should be included? Feel free to let me know.
Door Prizes– Donations from our own group are always welcome so let me know if you’d like to make a door prize donation and what it is. We will be awarding the +1’s from all of the swaps and a set of completed Fun Projects.
Gift Swap – You don’t have to sign up for this one, but if you would like to participate, bring a gift related to our stamping passion. Everyone who brings one will also leave with one. Value on these should be in the $5-10 range, and stamped projects are always appreciated! If it’s something you’d like to take home, it’s probably perfect! Be sure to include your name somewhere inside so the lucky winner knows who to thank. Wrap it up in plain brown paper. There will be a little “stealing”. REMEMBER: Stamping-related!!!
Other Stuff – Please bring your own labeled items for your personal stamping needs, including your favorite adhesive. These are the items you just can’t stamp without, like: bone folder, paper cutter/scorer, scissors, straight edge, stamp cleaner and whatever else you can't stamp without! Did I say adhesive????? Adhesive! You will likely need lots of it.
Make and wear a nametag with your name and your SCS name so that we know you on sight.
Don't forget your camera!
Complete the registration form and forward with your $25 payment ($27 via PayPal) by 5 pm on May 4th. All funds collected will be spent on the event. Your registration is complete when your payment is received. If you have any questions, please contact me. We really hope you will join us in June.

Swap Etiquette -- These are some good general guidelines can be found on SCS (Thanks Linda Tarolli!). I hope everyone will take these guidelines seriously so that we all make and receive wonderful swaps!
These are also good guidelines to keep in mind for your shoebox project, except that you're providing materials to make a full card rather than just a front and you won't need a "recipe".
1) Quality work -- This isn't about the quantity of layers or embellishments (please do use at least one embellishment and two layers), or whether you are new at this or not. "Quality" means straight cuts with no crooked, fuzzy edges, tears, wrinkles, etc. (unless that is part of the design), attaching your layers straight (again, unless part of your design), stamping images clearly with fully inked stamps, etc. If you make a noticeable mistake while stamping your swaps, turn the cardstock over, or cover with another layer. Last of all, quality means to use cardstock that is a nice weight not some flimsy stuff that has the feel of construction paper.
2) "Recipes" -- appreciated but not required. This means: your SCS name; your IRL name; listing the colors, stamp sets and embellishment you used; any techniques or tips you want to include. If you choose not to include a recipe, please include at least your name so we know who made your fab creation. Avery labels work great, but a plain piece of paper or your personalized stamp work just as well.
3) Would you like to receive your swap or make your shoebox project? Then it's PERFECT!
4) Swap sizes: Card fronts -- smaller than 4.25 x 5.5, please. Cards should be standard A2 (4.25 x 5.5) Recipes swaps are 6x6.
Please ask any questions you might have and someone will be sure to answer. We have all made a lot of great friends getting together at these gatherings so we hope youll join us at this one!
Resummarizing: Layers - at least two! Dig into those embellishments, give your fellow swappers a real treat! Put those punches to work! Have fun, try something different! Show some pride and put your name on the back!!

Graduation/Congratulations/Thank You Cards Swap --- Full Card
In the spirit of upcoming HS graduations, I thought a theme card may be fun to do. Congratulations can include other new beginnings such as retirement or new baby cards too since not everyone knows a graduate. Thank You cards are great for any occasion.

This will be a full card swap. These cards use 2 neutrals (Black & White, Brown & White, Gray & White – Ivory can be used instead of White) and 1 accent color. Please keep the accent color as an accent only and not a main color of the card. I have many different examples of this if anyone needs some. You can find some of the examples that I am inspired by here in my Photobucket album: http://photobucket.com/neutralwcolor
If you are on Pinterest, I have a folder that shows these kinds of color combinations.

To my peeps from the Utica-Rome area (and Gayla) ... we need to chat.
We have 5 of us already signed up and I believe Linda B. might want to join us. I can't seat 6 no matter which vehicle I drive. So we'll have to figure something out so no one gets left out.
I will drive.... for sure. Now, chat among yourselves and decide who else will drive.
TIA!!

I just added a page to download with directions (See Post 1 - attachment Thruway Directions). I mainly concentrated on how to get here from the thruway (Exit 34A from the east or Exit 40 from the west). Maybe that will help you decide about carpooling. It takes me about 1hr 15mins to get from Turning Stone (east) or Rochester (west).
