The colorful ones are pretty and I think I will try a few. Got a little ribbon just sitting around doing' nothin'! I think the ones on the picture are made upside down though. You have to be able to slide the clip on the page and the ribbon is on that end. I will flip mine over.

That's just what I thought. I was wondering if I was losin't it!
I gotta make those bookmarks! :p How cute are they? Wouldn't they make a nice gift inside a stamped card?
Thanks for the sweet shout out for Catered Crop. Once you make your ribbon-y things, I hope you'll link up to our challenge. You still have another week.
I make an inspiration board for each of my challenges. I still go back to them after the challenge is done for ideas. Glad you found some inspiration.
I don't know about anyone else, but when I see bookmarks made with paperclips, buttons, or anything else lumpy I cringe! I love my books too much to damage the pages that way. Of course, I've never used them so I don't know for sure. I do like the looks of them, but have always thought of them as useless. Does anyone actually use them for bookmarks? Anyone else with an opinion on this?

When I use flat paper bookmarks they always fall out. The paperclips will not fall out, and I won't lose my place.
I collect books.... seriously collect books. When we built our house, I put in one complete wall of custom made book cases to hold them. They stretch along the entire wall, from ceiling to floor. They are arranged by subject even the fiction titles.
jodaisy,
I don't plan on making these to use on books. I plan to make them and use on handmade cards, mini albums and such. They would make great little gifts to add to a swap too. I have several swaps I am involved in and also host them as well. These will make great little project ideas for my swap followers to add to the cards and packages they mail out each month. I guess I just think outside the box. It's the first thing I thougt of when I seen them.
Those ribbon curls would be cute on the book marks. My mom made some of the curly ribbon to put on pillows she made for the kids. Here's a website with instructions for how to do it.

Hadn't thought of using them on the cards I make. I don't know why, because I do use the round clips on cards with ribbon tied on them. What a great idea! THANKS!
Awesome ideas!! Love the paperclip bookmarks with ribbon...so cute and easy. And yes, the ribbon might need to be turned around to use it.
Lorien...love the tut about curling ribbon. I dont have girls, (just a 15 y.o. boy and he might not be thrilled for me to make some curly ribbon hair bows for him...LOL) but now I want to make some curly ribbon for SOMETHING!

ohhhh I know something else that you will love..... Check out the brass charms and embellishments at Fancifuls You know all that stuff I was obsessing over organizing in my drawer? Two of those containers are full of brass charms! I use them a lot. You know us Carolina girls love the beach right? Well I went slightly nuts over all the beachy things a few years ago and bought a few... okay several.... okay LOTS ;)
Ohh speaking of beach. Did you know that Fred Mullet is coming to Carolina Stamper in Beaufort? I am a serious fan of his fish prints. My friend and I have signed up to take a class from him next month.
