Default Memory Box Die Cuts ~ where to buy?

I recently saw a few Memory Box die cuts used on cards that I would love to get my grubby little hands on. Would those of you who own any be willing to share where you purchased them? I've never used them before ~ can they be used in a cuttlebug? Thank you for any help you can offer!

They absolutely can be used in a cuttlebug, and they work beautifully. I have the Bianca Snowflake, the crisp bows, Winter wonderland tree, Whimsy Circle, twiggy tree, leaf canopy and arboscello tree and love every one of them. They are so beautiful and delicate!

Unfortunately, they are also hard to come by. If you go to www.memoryboxco.com and click Store Finder at the bottom of the page, then select your country it will list places that sell it. Based on your avatar description, I assume you are in Australia, and there are two stores that carry them.

Of the online stores listed, Ellen Hutson carries that line, and will ship internationally (very expensively might I add) but do not take international credit cards, only US credit cards and PayPal. I live in Eastern Canada, and found a place on the west coast of Canada (about 3 time zones away) that carried them that shipped them to me.

Good luck!

Since you have these dies, I have to ask you something that's been bugging me since I first saw them.
With the leaf canopy die, does it just cut out trillions of individual leaves that you have to then adhere one by one? From the image that's what it looks like to me, and I keep saying to myself as pretty as that is, I could NOT be bothered with it, lol!
There are a few dies like this, the bubbly Joy word comes to mind. The picture of the die just looks like hundreds of tiny circles that have to be assembled into the word 'Joy'. Yikes!
Somehow I'm thinking I'm missing something though, please enlighten me!

KatrinaM-

Your question is one I wondered about also. I have the same reaction as you - what/how do you use them. I did see a card somewhere that backed the cutout of the large tree with green c/s so it had green leaves. There is one 'Leaf Motif', that looks like it is to used with 'Curved Antlers'???

The leaf canopy die cuts out all the tiny holes, and the cardstock goes above a contrasting piece of paper so that the "leaves" show through. The tree trunk die goes on top then.

Another online source is Frantic Stamper. Frantic Stamper - rubberstamp & scrapbook supplies

DUH! I never even thought of that! I'm so used to using dies for the actual cutout, not the negative space it leaves behind. Very clever!

If you're looking for memory box dies in Australia, scrapbook boutique stock them. They do sell out but restock fairly regularly. I have ordered through them a few times and always had great service. Love the memory box dies.

KatrinaM-

I was at my LSS where I buy my dies so asked the owner this question. I am frequently at the shop so we are friendly. She just laughed at my question and explained it like the OP. We had a good laugh. I told her I get teased about not minding to do the meticulous steps when I make a card but if I had to glue each itty, bitty leaf to the tree/antler/snowflake (JOY sentiment), FORGET IT!!!

I buy my MemoryBox dies at a local stamp store here in El Paso.

I made a card recently using the Canopy leaf die and the coordinating tree. It's super easy to use.

Good grief! That is SO awesome! Memory Box has definitely thought 'out of the box' with this one!

Love this!!!! I swear, I picked this die up and then put it down a zillion times at my LSS the other day and decided to wait since I didn't need it. I might have to go back and get it now that I've seen it in action.

KatarinaM, you're not the only one. I've wondered the same thing! I bet it's beautiful.

To the OP, I get mine @ Ellen Hutson's store:
Ellen Hutson, LLC | Die Domain | Dies | Memory Box

I don't know if it's better than anywhere else, but she does offer a nice selection, and stamps to match.

For anyone that wants to see, I have uploaded several projects using some of the new Memory Box dies:

Crisp Bows 1 (top of the ornament)
Crisp Bows 2
Winter Wonderland Tree
Bianca Snowflake - card (it's the silver one)
Bianca Snowflake - 3D

I have just finished a project using the Whimsy Circle, but it is still drying - I'll upload that tomorrow when dry.

I was interested and posted a comment or two, but I wanted to thank you here. I got all of those dies this week, and you made me so glad that I did! Your inspirations will help me get jump-started. I was especially interested to see how fine the crisp bows cut; I would'a sworn that was twine or thread. Thanks for posting those, and the link as well. I'll look forward to seeing the whimsy circle one too.

I am so in love w/these dies- I dream about them. Here in central Illinois you can get them at Praire Art Stamps in Springfield (my favorite store, ever!) After seeing flashand Rusty's pretty cards I now have to have the crips bows die. Gosh I hope I win the lottery tonight!

I love the Memory Box dies; they were so easy to use, cut perfectly with the Cuttlebug on first try and are so beautiful. Just ordered 6 more. Showed them to card making friends who had never seen intricate dies and they were amazed at all the detail.

Default Memory Box Grand Madison Window Die

Does anyone live know of a store that has the Memory Box Grand Madison Window die in stock? If so, would you either pmail me or email me privately at [email protected] and tell me the name of the store and where it is located so that I might give them a call. Thanks for any help you can provide as I really "need" this die.

I received 15 of the Memory Box dies yesterday and I must say that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM. They produce some extremely detailed and delicate cuts. I ordered mine from Impress Rubber Stamp store in Tukwila, WA. I was referred to them by someone on SCS and I will eternally indebted to them (and in debt to my credit card company for awhile). If you have not tried the dies, you should give them some serious thought.

A Canadian store; The Urban Scrapbook, carries Memory Box dies. They have an online store too, but not sure if the dies on there. You can always phone or email them and they will mail them out.

I love all of those cut out of the "sparkly paper". I only have the the Poppystamps Grand and Small Madison Window dies so far but have a couple of others on order fro the Scrapbooking Cafe in Ingramport, Nova Scotia. Now that I've seen what you've done with yours, these ones are now on my radar :-)

My Madison Window dies came from Frantic Stamper at a decent price and reasonable shipping to Canada.

For Canadians on the east coast...The Cutting Garden in Halifax, NS has these dies.

For the lady in Australia. I live in Canada and have ordered several times from SimonSaysStamp with good luck (located in the United States )
Order directly from the online store and not eBay. You will pay way too much for shipping on eBay. Not sure why, but the shipping is reasonable through the online store and outrageous from the same seller through eBay. Guess they are paying eBay charges by adding on more shipping charges.

I've been in this store and they have a few but not a very large selection, at least not yet. Hopefully they'll have more in the future. I don't believe they have an online store. I know there's a blog and a FB page but haven't seen a link to an online store.

I've discovered the Cutting Garden through the Internet. I've been in touch with them through email and they have an online order form now as well as a full rack of these dies. If you go to their web site they have a web album with a display picture of their dies. I admit they don't carry all the stock but it was exciting to me to see a local shop with at least some of them. If the web album isn't available yet..email them and they will send you a link.
I was told through direct email that they will bring in any item I want as long as I can provide the company and item number. Sadly, in most cases I find that I can get better deals even with shipping charges through the US. Would like to support local shps but have to think wisely about money too.

I find this is the case a lot as well. I have to make my crafting dollar go as far as it can as well. There is another store here in Ingramport, NS, the Scrapbooking Cafe, that I find the prices are quite reasonable. They aren't too much higher than in the US and by the time I figure shipping from the US, it is almost a wash. I can pick things up there as opposed to having her ship so that saves a bit, but they are still really good prices for Canada. They are also carrying Memory Box items and can order in particular requests as well.
