Hello everyone!! I hope you had a great weekend...we have had such wonderful spring like weather that I am in the mood to celebrate!! That's why this week we are going to make banners! Banners are so fun and trendy.....they have been all over stampland this last year. There is just a little twist, though.....
1. You must make your banners from scratch....no dies, stickers, or chipboard banner shapes!!
2. They must be the hangy downy kind...not the flat sentiment type.
3. You can make triangle shapes, flag shapes, half circle shapes, half egg shapes, square shape, heart shape....any shape you desire!!
4. You can hang the banner shapes on Baker's Twine, wire, raffia, twine...you can sew them on or pop them up on foam dots....
5. They can be made out of felt, paper, cork, fabric, chipboard...cut them out with punches, a paper cutter, or scissors.
6. I made mine by punching out 3 squares, layering them on top of each other, and hand cutting the triangles so they all were the same size. The matting was created by punching out three squares from cardstock, laying one of the cutout banners on a square, and cutting around the the edges using scallop edged scissors....they were glued together and sewing was done along the edges. They were then taped to a piece of Baker's Twine and adhered to the card with foam dots.
If we have to start from scratch I sure ain't going to get one made in the half hour before I have to go out! Maybe tomorrow - I'd like to play along with this. Great work with your scalloped scissors, Joan!
Here's my card for today. Most of my gallery disappeared but I have gotten a couple of comment on this card so it must be out there....weird..I'll keep checking the galleries..
Joan, what a cute challenge. I hope I didn't cheat when I made my "flags" egg-shaped. I used a MS balloon punch and cut off the nub to make my eggs. Still working on that Easter card stash and using the challenges to make it grow. : ) Thanks!
Here's my take on today's banner challenge. Gotta go to work now. I'll be back later tonight to comment on everyone's cards. Thanks for the fun challenge.
Here's my pennant banner- what a super challenge! Got out lots of punches to make this and added some bright ribbon to up the pizzazz factor! Here's Potpourri Pennants

To commemorate the unexpected snowfall yesterday in NW Washington, I made Snowflake Banner. I used a CM fancy squares punch on bright green sales tags, and added DC snowflakes, and shiny hearts. I finished with an antique brad and a recycled shopping list for my border.

I did hand cut panels for a simple banner- Joy- as I wanted to do a sponged card of a barnyard. I also used SU's A Tree For All Seasons, added a button, and some ribbons, all mounted on a coffee sleeve for texture. Have a great evening! Here's Joy at the Farm
