I've been working to fill in gaps in my SU ink collection. I started counting to see how many colors there have been throughout the years, including old colors in existing color families (including the now defunct Earth Elements), current colors, and In Colors throughout the years. I came up with a total of 116! Has anyine else counted? Did you get the same number? Which retired colors do you miss the most? Just curious!
Wow, that's more than half if you count the neutrals, which they didn't used to. I find it annoying that they discontinued all sorts of wonderful colors only to bring them back just slightly different. But at least the Incolors are good for 2 years now, even if there are 5 instead of 6.
I miss the lighter purples and Bermuda Bay the most.

I miss Cool Caribbean. Pool Party is a good substitute! I miss Bordering Blue. I wish they had kept Taken With Teal or Bermuda Bay. I didn't ever use these when they had them but would love them now.
I also loved Almost Amethyst. I still have two and a half packs...I should get it out and use it!

I know what you mean about discontinuing and replacing with an almost identical color. So frustrating because I like the new AND the old! What would make me super happy would be if they would continue to supply reinkers for discontinued colors which I'm sure isn't feasible. I know most people don't like having really similar colors, but I love having all of the choices. It's just a bummer when you can't get a reinker for an old color you loved.
There may even be more colors than what I counted since I don't have IBCs going back further than 2002. One day I'll need an extra room just for stamp pads!
I always think I am going to miss some of my old favorites but once I get using the new colors I forget all about the old ones. I will say I pulled out some retired cardstock for my Girl Scouts to use the other day and one of the colors was Cameo Coral. I loved Cameo Coral so I would say that is the one I miss.

Since I still have the retired ones it doesn't matter much. Plus I stocked up on cardstock so I am set for a long time. As far as colors looking similar they do, take a look at copic markers...over what, 300 colors? All they are is different shades of the same color basically so not really any different.

I agree that I getbwrapped up and loving the new too. Sometimes though, I wish I could add certain colors when demoing, because they would go so well with the new! And I also miss cameo coral as well as a few others.
Well, out of a lot I bought off ebay, 12 of them were current colors and about 25 of them were retired. I really like the Brilliant Blue as well. Somehow there were 2 Positively Pinks in the box.
