Hello everyone!! Hope you have recovered from all the Super Bowl excitement and are ready to do a little stamping!!!! My challenge is all about stripes....I just love striped designer paper but I can never seem to find just the right color combo soooooo.....my challenge to you this week is to make your own striped designer paper!! This is also a good way to use up all those scraps that have a way of building up in drawers and files or on the floor (like mine)...LOL!!!
Deets:
1. Cut thin strips of designer paper or cardstock long enough to hang over the background with a paper cutter so you have straignt lines...use what ever you have on hand and in the colors you want for your design. You can make some wider than others to vary the pattern.
2. Score lines on your background paper at 1/4 to 1/2 inch intervals so you will have a straight pattern to follow.
3. Add glue or use score tape on the back of the strips and adhere to the background paper to create the stipe pattern.
4. When dry, trim off the overhanging pieces.
5. You can use a vertical, horizontal, or a diagonal pattern...what ever you like!!
Joan- thanks for the super easy challenge- great way to recycle those strips of paper
I did a pair of cards as the images worked better that way- one on the left is from Rubber Stampede's African Animals- embossed with bronze powder- and I added a cherry from SU's Tart and Tangy. I just got this black printed fabric, and thought it was just right for a jungle themed card.
The second card is an outline stitched elephant, with a lovely silver flower, thanks to Polly. Here's Elephants.

This was a really fun challenge -- This was so much fun !! Thanks for this FABULOUS and INGENIOUS CHALLENGE !! Hope you like it and Thanks for Looking !!!
For my stripes, I used brown, orange, and polka dot light green papers-which I combined with this reverse cutout of a dog- I used the Bark stamp set by Basic Grey ("Ruff") and stamped some pawprints from Great Impressions. There's even a rope leash! Here's Time for a walk

I LOVE this technique! I am going to be using this lots more. I doubled up on this challenge and made a card for Teapot Tuesday (fish/fishing theme) as well:
Here is my card for my sister Gael the chicken lady birthday.
She is going to be shocked because her birthday is March 4th and I'm actually going to be ON TIME! As a CPA one's older sister should know never to expect anything before April 15th. In fact, I always tell her she should have waited to have been born! LOL.
Thanks Joan again. I'm going to use LOTS of old dsp for this one in future.
