Just found this thread. I do a lot of cards for kids with cancer and some have visual handicaps as well. If it is a girl, I try to put prima flowers on the front and I try to cut out whatever image I use and I raise it up so they can "feel" the image. Textured backgrounds (embossing) is nice too. Thanks for that link. Really helpful.

I make cards for a good friend who is 89 yrs old and almost blind. She love when I add textured bkgs. with the eb folders....I also make my cards for her larger then the regular size and I always add really strong colours....and pop dots so she can feel as well.

I can vouch for the challenge of making cards for the color blind!

My husband is color deficient. He sees colors differently than we do:

pink >> gray
orange >> green
purple >> blue
cranberry >> black
etc.

and I think most colors just aren't as vibrant or interesting to him. I'm a little sad when I think about it, but of course he doesn't know anything else.

Patterns, a clean layout and strong contrasting colors really help!
