I tend to buy ribbon from Michaels and JoAnn's, but I have to tell you that the choices are BORING! My Michaels especially has a miserable variety.
I recently found a couple places that have some beautiful ribbon:
https://stampsimply.com/shop/catalog/ribbon-c-26.html Stamp Simply Ribbon Store was a sponsor in the SCS Hope You Can Cling To challenge and I won their prize, which is a beautiful collection of pink ribbon. I'm definitely going to order from them next year.
I like Creative Impressions ribbon. It's not too expensive, but you do need to order a $10.00 minimum. I especially love their printed twills, they have some cute vintage ruler style printed twill.
For really good quality ribbon, I like May Arts, but it is pricey. Search May Arts in google to find a retailer that will sell by the yard.

I've been using Hug Snug seam binding a lot lately... and dyeing it with my Copics. Love how silky it is, but also how it firms up just a smidge after using Copics on it. I got mine from zipperstop.com, but you can find it several places online now.

I get the basic colors and styles at Michael's or Joann's, but it's true their selections are pretty boring-especially in my smaller stores. I get a lot from Really Reasonable Ribbon on the web, they have May Arts ribbons and there are ones that are identical to some of SU's ribbon offerings. I like a few of PTI's ribbons, but I wish their satin was double faced and the ribbons had larger yardage in the rolls.
I use ribbons and bows oh my. Well I have in the past. I did a large order and am still using that ribbon. I like Papertrey's ribbon. I have some SU ribbon. I'll take it from anywhere really. My favorite ribbon I got a HUGE spool of at the thrift store for 50cents. It's like two miles of the stuff.

I used to belong to their Ribbon Club many years ago - at least over five years- but when I was in it I got nothing but QUALITY ribbons and EXCELLENT customer service. I cannot vouch for the present-day operations, but if it's still with the original people, I can vouch that you can't go wrong!! ;)
Another vote for Reasonable Ribbon. They are great! Been buying from them for years. Learned about the ribbon ring from them. They have a lot of variety and will match with SU! and CTMH colors if I remember correctly.
Like a lot of the above, pretty much anywhere I spot something I like!,lol. If I want a large-ish amount, I generally use e-bay- you can get some amazing bargains. I have bought 50 yard rolls for a couple of pounds, including postage from there.
I love The Ribbon Carousel - lots of May Arts by the yard, twine, and lots of other goodies including a cool storage Carousel . The owner, Corinna, is a fantastic paper crafter and lady.
Disclaimer - I am on the DT for The Ribbon Carousel
My favorites that I use all the time are their Crochet Lace, Organdy, Gingham and Silk Ribbon. I also love their curling ribbon in iridescent and silver.

Love this company--great selection and prices and reasonable shipping!

Thank you so much! Two years ago I made a New Year's Resolution not to buy any new ribbon until I had used up what I had. Now I get to replenish! Maybe a ribbon club would be the way to go.

Mainly Stampin Up. I've gotten some from specialty stores and stamp shops. I like that the SU ribbon matches the cardstock/dsp. My non SU just sits there most of the time. It took me a long time to build up my ribbon stash. Years.....I like ribbon on almost every card I make. I just ordered more from the clearance blitz going on at SU (online). Can't wait to get my hands on that 1/8th inch Night of Navy!

I buy mostly from Stampin Up, a sucker for any new. I definitely am a ribbon junkie and paper too. Never get enough of either. I also buy from No Time to Stamp Simply ribbon store and am a club member of Really Reasonable Ribbon, always get something a little unusual. Ribbon on a card really says homemade.
I bought a 25 yard roll of white 1/4" satin polyester ribbon on eBay from seller su_li_ping. It shipped from China, but it was 86 cents plus $1.39 shipping. I figured if it never arrived, I wouldn't be out much. However, it came within a couple of weeks.
I bought white so I could color match it to my project with a little spray ink. If (when) I ever run out, I won't hesitate to buy more.

If I'm in a hurry it's Michael's, Joann's or Hobby Lobby. That's never a very satisfying solution because the choices are b-o-r-i-n-g and the quality just okay. But for quality, price and selection, it's Really Reasonable Ribbon. Bonnie is just great -- very quick and her selection is great. I have subscribed to the club on a couple of occasions (3 months at a time) but I really like to just do a shopping spree.
