DEC11VSNF ~ Saturday, Dec 10 ~ 1pm ET~ Christmas Presents
Title: Christmas Presents
Hostess: Ky (scrapacat)
Keyword: DEC11VSNF
Day/Date: Saturday, December 10th
Time: 1:00pm ET
Who doesn't love to get presents? And who doesn't love to give them? A beautiful tree all piled up with beautifully wrapped presents, the lights that twinkle, and children's giggles are wonderful to me. Add to that a snowy winterland outside the window... heaven! I know many of you celebrate in many different ways around the globe. Just adapt this challenge to your personal viewpoint - everyone is welcome!
My challenge for you is to incorporate packaging or wrapping paper in your project. You could use distressed, torn cardboard, or beautiful foiled paper. Try some old-style wrapping paper like Sunday comics - get creative and have fun! Don't forget the pretty ribbon and bows!
My samples show you cardboard and acetate from packaging. I love both options! The acetate was colored with alcohol inks, and provides the warm glow in the windows of the snowy home. Stripped cardboard gives a warm, outdoorsy feel for flowers. Mix it up!
Here are a few techniques you can check out - they are strictly optional for this challenge!
UPLOADING/CHALLENGE INSTRUCTIONS:
1. ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON MONDAY, December 12th.

Our snow is almost gone. I'm ready for more but we have a clear, but cold, week ahead. I'm sure yours is piled nice and high! What, 18 inches and counting?

Well we had 24" with all the storms last week...we probably have a good 8" still around and of course up the back of the property it's still piled higher. We are supposed to be in mid-40's this week so we may see more meltage. We need more snowstorms!
Here is mine. I didn't do anything special to the wrapping, because I liked the words that were on it, and didn't want to cover them up! So, I think that stopped my creativenessS! So, I don't think this is what you had in mind, but it is what I came up with. Thank you for the challenge and all the research you did with the techniques. I will try one of those in the future.

What a fab idea this was to use wrapping paper. this one did take me longer than 45 minutes - I'll admit to that as my wrapping paper was such a pain to trim straight. I had only a bit left on the roll and as it was near the end it was very curly and would not lay straight at all! But after all the fighting with it, I totally love how it came out!
I just finished wrapping and mailing the presents, but I purposely saved a scrap of paper for this challenge. Now to figure out what to do with it...
