Default What to get the stamper who has everything?

OK SCSers - I have a couple of dear friends and relatives who stamp, and they have lots of gear. What are super cool stamp gadgets or gift ideas that might appeal to them (and me - I've been very good this year!)?

Yes, but a gift card to *where*? I suggest money. A lovely stamped card with monies in it so that your friends can spend it wherever they like.

Extend/get subscriptions to magazines
Cricut Mats
Adhesive Refills
Loads and loads of ribbon!
Variety packs of cardstock

My vote is for things that are consumables. You know they will use them, but it won't matter if you duplicate anything. And I've said it before, buying cardstock is not sexy....so if you get it for them, they can buy the unique stuff on their own to add to the supplies you gift them! Hope this helps!

My bestie is the one who got me into stamping and we both have WAY TOO MUCH STUFF!!! We've both been trying to downsize and purge, so no matter how cool the toy or tool or whatever may be, we don't want MORE. I told her that what I really want for Christmas this year is to spend time with the people I love, and she feels the same way. We've decided that - instead of gifts - we're going to get together for a movie/crafting marathon. I don't know how your stamping friends would feel about it, but maybe, in lieu of gifts, you could host a get-together of some kind...

What crafter doesn't need more time? So whatever you decide from supplies to glitz I would emphasize the gift is that you hope you have given them more time to create their wonderful projects.

I agree with "more time". Depending on how much you want to spend, a gift certificate for a house cleaning or getting some outside chores done.

Then you could make a card with a clock on the front and tell her you bought her some " stamping time"

There are some great ideas here - thanks all! I particularly love the merry maids idea, but for various reason it won't work for either.

Is there anything new under the sun that you would just love to get for stamping but won't buy yourself?

Not at all - I left out important info! I'd like to spend anywhere up to $50 - $100, but I can get several smaller items, or combine with other gift ideas. It can be very creative, but should not be so complicated it needs a 10 page manual to figure out - although video tutorials are always helpful in that case!

I know this group always has tons of great knowledge to tap into.

Have you considered a Tervis Tumbler (if they don't have) I have them and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them. You can have a special one made up. I would consider it a crafting tool as it keeps me from spilling my drink (always use with a travel lid) on what I am working and the cup doesn't "sweat". If you are going to put things together that would be a fun addition.

Does your gift need to be exclusively about crafting?

I have a friend I have known for 43 years so we know each other well.
A few years ago I made her a Christmas basket of "All Things Joanna"

She loves Shakespeare so I found Shakespeare paper dolls
She love gardening so I found a candle in the shape of a flower pot
She is an excellent cook so I included a couple of jars of speciality spices from Penseys
She loves Tea so I included some specialty teas .
She loves music and her iPod so I included a gift card for iTunes
And the basket was because she loves baskets
I may have had a couple other things in there I can't recall just now.

I am always very grateful for gift cards. I am a picky crafter. I honestly don't like people buying my craft supplies. Boy, do I sound petty, lol. I hope it doesn't come off that way. My DH know what I like.

I love the above post about looking at the other hobbies. One year I got a plants. I love plants! That was a great gift. I know a few would scoff at getting plants. I was so excited. One time I received a gift of pet items so I would have more money for crafting. I loved it. I have a lot of animals and they do tend to eat up your stash money. I actually like food gift cards or food gifts. DH has a crazy schedule and it's hard to plan meals. Then when he gets home all we want to do is craft or game. We can't do that because there is dinner to fix. Blah, yucky on that. Our friends give us food so we can spend more time doing what we love.

Editing to add my friends always package my gifts in decorator boxes. It has become a bit of a contest for them. I have all straight guy friends too. It's amazing the gifts don't come in an oil rag or something, lol. I would love that too. I collect decorator boxes. I actually use those boxes for my craft storage. I love them so much because I can remember who gave it to me and the meaning behind it.

If they order from online stores, find out what there favorite stores are and get them a gift certificate from that store, if they offer them. I know that is what I would love to get. I do like the idea of the food/meal gift that would also go towards giving them time to play in there craft room for a little longer instead of having to stop and make a meal. I am sure that whatever you get them they will love it because it was given with love and thought.

I was also thinking of anything consumable. Paper, ink, envelopes, ribbon, paper cutting blades, adhesives, etc.

Does she have a favorite catalog (say Stampin Up or Close to My Heart, Hero Arts, etc) that she has a wish list for? Maybe if you could get a hold of her wish list, order up a bunch of stuff and make a basket for her? (including some chocolate of course) Or, if you buy a bunch of stuff from a catalog from her wish list, also buy an organizational thing and store everything inside of it?

Does she need a new rolling scrapbooking tote?

If she doesn't have a card keeper or a nice address book, maybe one of those?

We have bought a night out package before. Gift card to a restaurant they like and then movie passes to a nearby theatre.

NO MORE PAPER!

I don't want someone else to buy me paper - I have PLENTY already. Besides, I have a particular kind I want and I don't want or need a huge stack-o-whatever laying around. Same with cardstock. White is nice, unless it's that thin stuff from a discount place with a coupon. No thanks!

I WILL use pop dots, sticky tape, envelopes, blades for my cutter, blades for my crafting knife, ink refills for pads I already own, copic refills for markers I already own, etc.

And I dearly love the suggestion of maid service, or baby sitting so I can have some time to do more crafting. The tumbler idea was cool too - especially since you can get lids and long straws for them so you don't have tipping accidents. They also make the kind you can put slips of paper or pictures into so they become personalized. I have also seen tote bags with windows so you can place photos or art behind the windows.

Cute ideas - keep them coming!!!

My votes would be the maid service or a babysitter gift certificate. Time is always the best gift.
Or if she truly has "everything" - perhaps a donation to a charity in her name?
Animal Shelters can always use extra food and kitty litter at the holidays, I know ours will send a really nice card to the person letting them know of the donation in their name.

How about a gift certificate for a massage? All that bending over the stamping table takes its toll. Ask me how I know, LOL!

Do they owe some type of scoring tool---such as Scor-Pal, scor-buddy, Martha Stewart scoring thing, SU Score tool, etc. You don't think you need one, then you try one, and you really want one!!! Do they have a die cutter? If so, there are so many wonderful dies out such as My Favorite Things (which I think are made in the USA). Spellbinders, Quikutz, and others (just found the neatest ones at a show but sadly don't know the name off the top of my head). Have they tried Scor-tape? I love the stuff but don't buy the name brand but the Sukwang (same stuff, different name, cheaper). Are they into Copics? The price is going up in January so it is the time to buy. I like to open things--not gift certificates---I realize not everyone likes others to purchase for them but not me, I love opening goodies. Good luck and I'm sure that they will love whatever you do because it is from the heart!

I'm another who has a lot and am a picky stamper. I feel bad when someone buys me something that I'll never use. It's such a waste of their hard earned money.

What I'd like is a things to enjoy while stamping - these are what I have/use when I stamp

Spa music CD
Good DVD movie
Tea or speciality coffee
Chocolate (I should have listed this first!)
Comfy hoody or warm big shirt that I can trash
Scentsy burner

I would love the following:

More stamps (no, really--I always want more stamps!)
More nesties
More Copics
My favorite consumables: White/Kraft CS, nice envies, foam dots, pearls, EZ-mount
I would love some more of the nesties storage cases from Rubber Stamp Concepts.
Any distress inks I don't already have
Distress stains
More Washi tape

Wow, I love all these ideas. You all can buy for me anytime!

If she's a cardmaker, I like the idea of envelopes. Along those lines, I had a hard time finding something to ship my multi-layered cards in until I found these:

Papertrey Ink Clear Boxes

Envelopes aren't the most sexy gift, but maybe you could give some fun packaging ideas, like glassine bags.

Promise I'm not associated with Papertrey Ink, but they have a really cool packaging section: PTI Packaging
