I am getting a new craft room and plan to have navy counter tops installed. Does anyone dislike having a dark work area? The rest of the room will be white.
I think it will be fine and easy on the eyes not being so bright when you are looking down working .I work on a glass desk with black frame so im looking down at the dark wood floor
I have a dark desk..it is an older metal type two piece office desk but I LOVE it. The only thing I want which hubby is doing for my b-day next month is we are getting beveled glass cut to cover the top. I use a lot of staining things in my art work and my crafts..so that is the one thing I might suggest no matter the color of your desk top is to get a piece of glass to cover it.
Lucky you getting your own Craft Room, I think the dark work surface sounds nice. I work on a large dark green cutting mat that covers my desk and I find it a good color to work on.
I have two work surfaces - one white, and one dark brown woodgrain. I prefer the darker surface. It helps to delineate the outline of my cards better - I tend to make white or ivory card bases - and easier to see placement.
