Weekly I Spy Challenge

Hello Friends, and welcome to Spy HeadQuarters. This is the NEW weekly "I Spy" challenge. Have you ever played I Spy as a child? You would sit in the back seat of the car with your big brother or little sister and while at a stop light you would see a bush with cool looking flowers on it and you would say "I spy with my little eye something green." And your siblings would take a guess at what it is you spied. If they were wrong then you would add "It has white flowers." and they would guess again. This would go on until one of them guessed that you spied a snowball bush.

Well, this challenge is based on that game.

This is an example of how it will work. Every Saturday I will post something like: "I spy with my little eye something in a tree. It is red and black in color. It has wings and it has feathers.

Now the challenge for everyone is to make a card using at least one element of the description of what I spied.
If you really want to challenge yourself, use all of the elements of the description. And the biggest challenge would be to guess what it is that I spied and add that onto your card. Please do not mention the item you believe it is I spied. The fun is using the descritption itself. On the following Saturday I will tell you the item I spied...Don't forget to look at everyone's cards and see what they came up with. And let's make sure we leave comments on everyone's cards.

The first person to post their card showing the image that I Spied will win a prize.

What to do with the cards we make.
Every person that plays this challenge and posts their card in the Spy Quarters (the thread) will get their name put into a drawing. The drawing is to see who our "Happy Mail Spy" will be. Whoever's name is drawn will be the recipient of the cards. Keep in mind that it is NOT mandatory that you send your cards to the Happy Mail Spy. However, if you do choose to send your card to the winner all you have to do is pm me for the winners address. Please keep in mind that you MUST post your card to the thread in order to be included in the drawing.

The new I Spy Challenge will start this Saturday, Aug.20. So please grab your spy kit and come and join in on the fun. If we become a chatty group...lol..IF...I know we will be a chatty group so if you are new to challenges or new to SCS just jump on in and say Hello. This challenge is open to each and every person that wants to play. It is a new challenge so if you have any ideas on how to make this challenge more fun, please pm your ideas to me.

So is everyone ready??? I know Lauren is.....let's get to know each other as friends by introducing ourselves. Feel free to tell us something fun about yourself. Please keep in mind that you do NOT have to chat with us in order to play the I Spy Challenge. However, if you are new and do like to chat...then jump on in and chat away.....Oh there is one BIG rule in this challenge and that is to HAVE FUN!!!!

Now Lynn, I only mentioned Lauren because she has been so hyped about this challenge starting. Everyone knows I need you and your whole Motley Crew in order to have the best fun ever. So come off of the naughty step and start crafting. Huggs my friend.

Can we keep the same thread like we do in the Alphabet Challenge, it is so much easier to find all the time.... yep you guessed it, I like easy and I am basically lazy!!!

I know all of you have plenty to do while you are waiting! You have other swaps to work on and you can try out some new ideas with your new crafting toys or things you have purchased and haven't used yet! I know I have several things I haven't used yet.

I took a look in Lauren's gallery and saw some great new creations!!

I'm soooo terrible at weekly challanges...but I am going to try to play along again...I used to love that game!!!

so can we guess on the thread what it is or do we just make a card with what we think then post?!

I just wasn't sure if we say or not, so that we can see what crazy things people come with....if someone guesses correctly the first moment it gets posted then I'll know what to make my card of....

like maybe I thought it was a toucan in the tree. or my black cat who has a red collar with a finch....Everyone can do a cardinal....well maybe I do want someone to tell me the answers.

Hellooooooo it is Saturday!!!

I crafted all day at the naughty step waiting for Saturday and made seven cards, yes that's right, seven. All good ones too, and they are all in my gallery just waiting for you to go and have a look at them.

Now where are my playmates?? Where is Lynn, Marilyn and where is Yvonne....

Oh and the million dollar question is, where is Dani??

Hi Lauren,

I see you have been waiting for the challenge! I thought maybe Dani would be here early and you would already be finished before I woke up.

I wanted to take a look at all the cards you created while I was sleeping, but there seems to be some problem with our galleries.

There are only 5 photos in your gallery (1 page) not the new cards.

I only have 1 page in mine too. Something is wrong.

Ok, you've had time to read the first post so now you know how the "I Spy" challenge works so let's get started, shall we?

"I Spy with my little eye... decorations in purple and white. There are centerpeices with beautiful flowers in them. There are beautiful teapots and teacups on every table. Each table is sprinkled with beautiful gems. And there are ribbons that flow down from the ceiling."

Hello ladies...I did read all the posts and I hope I answer all of your questions. If I miss one..please don't send me to the naughty step with Lauren, she pinches me all the time. No wait, do send me to the naughty step...Lauren has lots of new toys maybe she will share with me. Hehee
First let me welcome each and everyone of you; Janet J, Montana, Lauren, FM, Tryingtofindtime (we need to give you a nickname ), anniepanda, LMN, MrsLaporte, Raduse and I hope and pray I didn't miss anyone. If I did...I am truely sorry. Welcome Everyone!!!
Ok, please do NOT say what the item is if you figured out what I spied. Just make a card showing it. I will go look at post number 1 and see if I have that in there. I will announce the item next Saturday. Unless you ladies feel we should do it differently. I am open to suggestions since after all....I am doing this for you.
Lauren, you crack me up girl. I have been laughing ever since reading this. In fact, I read your posts outloud and my granddaughter Dani is here (yes, she loves to be with Meemaw) she then asked...Are you their leader or something?? Omgosh I laughed so hard.
I am so happy to see y'all getting excited about this new challenge. I am excited to come up with bigger and better items each and every week.
I do like the idea of keeping everything in one thread. So that is what we will do.
I think FM's Kerra is going to have to be our mascot. Go Kerra!!!!

No Dani don't do that, I cannot keep a secret and I might accidentally spill to Miss Lynn when she puts that Chinese water torture on me.... Tee Hee.

Yep the time difference is about 16 hours, sometimes less with Daylight Savings etc. Usually you start your day as I am going to bed!! And for many it is afternoon/suppertime when I start my day.

It is lonely over here in the land of the future!! Tee Hee

Okay, this is going to be fun.....I just hope I get myself organized enough to actually get a card made!! My plan was to be in my craft room for the whole day, but i've had two little grandchildren here all day already, so that didn't happen. BUT.....I think I have a pretty good idea what it is!

And Lynn, I think both you and Kea need to get blinged out for this challenge!

Oh -OK - I thought she was one of those women before they are old enough to be in the Red-Hat Society (they wear purple hats).

Ms. FM my friend...you can share in Kerra's bling...altho you may look funny with a collar around you neck that is decorated in bling. hehe...And oh how I remember that song...Purple People Eater...too fun...ok...back to my stampin room else I won't get my swap out to Lauren tomorrow and I am already on the naughty step for being so late in going postal. I totally forgot about the time difference and the amount of time the Happy Mail takes to get there. so...I am out for now...

Has anyone started on their card yet? This does sound like fun. There are enough elements in the description, that even if we don't know what Dani has spied we should be able to make some interesting cards!

I hope to have time tommorrow afternoon to do something.

Joyce first I owe you an apology...I think I've been calling your Annie...I guess I never noticed Joyce on the bottom of your messages. I am sorry. No, you do not have to know what it is I spied. Just use as many of the elements you can on your card. If you guess what it is I spied then put that on your card. Please don't say what it is I spied. But y'all can conversate amongst yourselves to figure it out if you'd like. Just don't say what it is....ooh that sounds like a challenge in itself. lol...Just have fun with it.
