Default I LOVE my Silhouette Cameo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I noticed some of you were inquiring about the Cameo and I just received mine on Friday and I'm totally in love! I've had a CraftROBo since 2007 and I get the best intricate cuts with it but I can't cut thicker media...thus my decision to purchase the Cameo...I get intricate AND thick!!! If you are interested in it, please go here to my blog to see some photos of cuttings I've done while playing with it....I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!!!

So happy for you Pam! There's nothing like a new toy that works like you expect it to (or better!)

Carol, is this your first digital cutter? A good place for help and tutorials is the Silhouette Plus Florum!

Have fun! Pam

When you say "thick" how thick are you talking about? This is the one question I can't seem to find an answer to, thanks!

Not quite, I have the Cricut E, but I've only used it to do mass cutting of circles and straight cartridge cutting. I was on the fence about SCAL then the lawsuit happened, so I decided it was time to go into the market for a new cutter (I just didn't like where Cricut went with limiting you to their cartridges and images).

Thanks for the link! I surely have a lot of reading and learning to do! My Silhouette is coming today! Drats that UPS always comes at the end of the day though.... impatiently waiting for my shiny new cutter!!!

I would really like to know what cardstock weight the cameo can handle, in ONE PASS!! Can it cut StampinUp cardstock in one pass? Can it cut fun foam in one pass? What about Walmart white cardstock?

TIA

Maybe the OP knows, but I'll be giving it a try on SU cardstock tonight and will let you know! I could try our glitter paper too.

Hi all - I haven't had a chance to play too much yet, but from what I've been able to do so far.... I LOVE it!!!

Yes! I was able to cut through SU cardstock, easy peasy! No problems there. I did have to change the setting from the Silhouette recommendation a little for the SU textured cardstock though, but once I did that, no problems cutting.

I haven't tried glitter paper yet, but on another thread Pam said glitter paper is not good for electronic die cutters, so I'm a little hesitant to try that now. Maybe she can explain why?

The particles glitter paper leaves arent good for the machine. Also, glitter paper is really wearing on a blade.

I just got a Cameo Silhouette. Went to cut some letters and numbers with SU Basic Black CS and it tore and was a total mess. Tried a speed of 3 and blade on 4, then on 5 and it was a waste of time. Does anyone know what settings to use on the colored cs?
