Red face Basic grey

Thank you for this head's up! I didn't even know that Michael's sold Basic Grey. I have been reading so much about it here, I had to run over. Sure enough, all the 12x12 in the one section was on sale. I think there were about 10 different ones, from different collections. When I brought it to the front, the guy ringing me up said how much he liked them. He said he was going to buy some and frame them to put in his bathroom. I mentioned I hadn't seen them before, and he said they were new. I'm hoping they start carrying the collections! Then you can use a coupon to buy them!
Thank you again for the tip!

Good thing I didn't see this this morning, I would have had to RUN to Mike's! Oh well, I have to use what I've already bought! Regualr price at my LSS is $.80 a sheet so not too bad! I bought several sheets of the Sophie collection.

Maybe you should run. The first lady that posted was in Canada. In the US, the regular price is .59, so they are .30 each!

:-( I went to M's today to check out the Basic Grey but they didn't have any at my local store (not a shock), no Wild Asparagus either. All was not lost though as I picked up some clearance MM items at 50-60% off.

I went to Mike's this morning and saw two packs of BG papers like a in a book, I thought that is what was talked about here but it wasn't on sale. Did you mean individual sheets of cardstock as in Open cardstock? I didn't know they sold individual sheets in the open cardstock area? We're moving TODAY, but I will have to check out our new local Michael's when we get settled in this week.

Yes, it was the open cardstock. Actually, I would say it was in the paper section, not cardstock. Either way, it was individual sheets, normally .59, on sale for 50% off this week.
Now I have to go back and look for the book. I can use a coupon on that!

Here ya go thought you could all use a chuckle!LOL
I am a newbie to stamping in general and I do not know what Basic Grey is. Is it a brand name of card stock? I thought I should ask before I go searching for it at our Michael's. If they have to ask me what it is I should be able to tell them don't ya think!

I think it's more heavyweight paper than cardstock. Do a search. There are some other threads where people have posted links where you can go and look at Basic Grey papers.

Well, I stopped in at the Michael's in Salem, NH & did not see any Basic Grey; all the "Open Stock" paper was on sale 50% off though; I got a few sheets of 12x12 vellum that had all kinds of quotes that you can cut apart & a few little things on sale so the trip wasn't wasted!

The Michaels in Regina carries Basic Grey and Wild (Anchovies?) paper! I saw five or so different patterns of BG and maybe three different WA in the open paper stock section. And the slabs were half price!

I had talked myself out of going to Michaels tonight except a friend came to me at the last minute and asked if I wanted to go so I could help her get some bulky items for her art display tomorrow. So I went, and I had previously talked myself out of buying the Slab VI because I have so much steenkeen paper as it is, but it was half price. My willpower means nothing!

I know what you mean. Its like an addiction of mine. Michaels is always a must when I have coupon in my hot little hands. My friend at work brings them to me and then if there is paper for 6/$1.00 or 8/$1.00 FORGET ABOUT IT !! I'm there. My husband can not understand how I can get so excited about buying paper. I guess he'll never understand that its an illness and the best thing to do is to stand back and stay clear ....I'm outa here...

Have fun paper shopping !!

I am in good company, it appears! Oh, and I saw a line of paper I'd never seen before in the open stock section --- Harley Davidson! No classic cars, though. :(

Really?? I'm in Winnipeg and have never seen Basic Grey or Wild Asparagus papers at the Michaels' stores. (I went 2 weeks ago to one.)

Personally, I wish this was an urban myth. Those are both high quality, unique papers only available at your Local Scrapbook Store... until now. LSS owners have enough challenges... trying to offer something different from the Big Box stores being one of them. As consumers, we have more 'power' than we realise, so...

I rushed into my Micheal's last night and didn't find any such wonderful papers. They did have some of the Harely Davidson but no basic grey or Wild A. Bummer!!

I was at Mike's today and they had clearance stamps. I got some Me and My Big Ideas ones for ONE DOLLAR. This is what I got: girl with swimsuit and towel, boy postage, boy on skateboard, dog in wagon, and a couple more I can't remember. I was so excited, they were marked three dollars but rang up one dollar. Happy Shopping, Lisa

Interestingly, I went to the other M's in my area today, looking for that collection of basic grey that someone mentioned. Not only did they not have that, they didn't have the BG that was at the first store I went to. I haven't seen the Wild Asparagus at either store, but I don't really know what I am looking for there.
So, I guess it's hit or miss for the paper. Maybe they will all eventually have it.

I went on saturday. i didnt buy paper BUT i did buy the little suitcase, luggage with wheel thingy! ( i hope you gals know what Im talking about)

IT WAS 50% off!!!! at $65 CAD, why not right?

the next day, I literally packed my bags, and went to my girlfriends place for our stamp night.

MY GOSH! you can fit so much!!!
I think i stashed about 10 stamp sets, ink pads, embossers, paper, cardstock etc.

gals, if you go to your girlfriends place alot for stamping, this is a great investment! no more rubbermaid tote boxes!!!!
