WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY
THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TEAPARTY
AND CHALLENGE #170
PRAY TELL, IT'S MOSAIC MOZELLE,
THE BROKEN DISH BELLE!
THIS WILL WORK OUT QUITE WELL!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
This is my story!
1. Wowza! What a teaparty we had last week! Don't cha just hate it when there is so much preparation for a get together? Planning, decorating, preparing food, special party favors, cleaning, and so on and so forth. Then the big day comes and in about 8 hours the whole thing is just plain ole' over! Next thing on the list? Putting everything away! You know, sorta like Christmas time! Well, Christmas clean-up is nuttin' compared to the clean up after a teaparty with King Kong! Okay, alright already, so maybe it was not such a good idear to invite the King! Maybe taking the King outa Kong is what really went wong! Note to self: No more gorillas at the teaparties!
2. Guess what? Turns out King Kong does like tea and cookies, but he likes blondes better and there were so many blondes at the teaparty and so many other monkeys that he went APE in a fit of jealous rage! He just got frustrated! Big time frustrated! A 42,000 teapot stack created in honor of King Kong and that took weeks and weeks of planning, was completely demolished in 10 minutes of jealous rage! As a matter of fact, it's turned into a community disaster (Sorry Darla!) and the professionals have been called in for the clean up! Stinkin' Kong would be a big help but he took off to the neighboring island pulling a boatload of blondes across the ocean! See if we ever invite him to a teaparty again!
3. Okay, so the plan was to just bulldoze the mess away but that all changed when one of the most influential members of the community got wind of the situation, showed up and threw a fit almost as big as King Kongs! Pray Tell, It's Mosaic Mozelle, the Broken Dish Belle! This will work out quite well!
When she says STOP, the community says, OKAY! Does the word Mosaic give you a hint of what is to happen now? You guessed it, this stack of broken teapots will live again! It might take awhile but these teapots are to be rebuilt into various pieces of art and then placed in a new community museum to be constructed with Mozelle family money! It's something she has always wanted to do but never could collect the vast amount of broken dishes it would take to fill her own museum! Her dream will now be realized thanks to King Kong! The headlines in the local paper will read: Broken Dish Belle To Build Mozelle Museum of Mosaic ~ Open Spring of 42,000.
4. Of course she needs manpower! So we are staying on the island a little longer to help. She will give us a crash course in mosaic at noon and then turn us loose! Hey, she has promised us free room and board and the cooks in her kitchen love tea and bake wonderful cookies! Whoot! Just grab anything you can find and work your own mosaic masterpiece! This mosaic teapot that Mozelle created is to be used as inspiration and a sample of the look she is after. Just go with the flow and if you simply cannot figure out mosaic, just bring some pretty flowers, pearls or wonderful embellishments!
Don't let Mosaic Mozelle hear you bad mouthin' Kong! She is quite grateful to him and is actually kicking around the idear of inviting him to the grand opening of the museum! She figures if there are no blondes there, all will be good! On a side note, if you just can't help it and plan on gossiping about King Kong come in the back door, that's where most of us will be!
CHALLENGE TRANSLATION:
Try your hand at mosaic! Here is your crash course in mosaic: Just stamp something up, color it, cut it all up and put it back together! Tea hee! How's that for a tutorial? And if you just can't bare the thought of cutting your beautiful image up into little pieces, no worries bring it whole and put some pretty flowers, pearls, or ribbon with it and hope that Kong doesn't do a number on it at the grand opening of the museum!
DESTINATION STATION:
This week our destination is Simi Valley, California. If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending it to fellow Teapotter, Kathy
(CAKath). Kathy is in need of some warm fuzzies and heartfelt sympathy wishes at this time! Back in the beginning of October, Kathy and I scheduled her sister Joanne to be the destination for this week's challenge. We were to send beautiful beach themed cards to Joanne to get her mind off her cancer treatments. Sadly, Joanne's teaparty just did not come quick enough as she passed away on Wednesday, October 12th. Kathy had vowed to wear pink all month in October has her mother, aunt and 2 younger sisters all battled breast cancer.
For more information including Kathy's address go to
Post #254 in the Teapot Tuesday Destination Station thread. Please remember that just because you participate in a Teapot Tuesday challenge that is combined with a card drive request, it does not mean that you are REQUIRED to send your cards. It is totally 100% voluntary!
