With the holidays FAST approaching, I thought I might get busy working on some tags.
There are lots of new dies available, and I can't keep up with all the various releases, but would like to add a couple new tag shapes to my tool kit this year.
I just got Tag Sale #5 from Papertrey's October release. I haven't used it yet, but have great plans, lol. Here is a link. Scroll to the bottom of the page:
And for inspiration, here is a link to a fabulous post from last year with the most stunning tags made by Dawn McVey.
I loved her tags so much I made similar ones and gave them in sets for gifts. They were such a success! I have a daughter-in-law who still talks about whether a person is "tag-worthy" and gets to have a fancy tag on their present.
Have you tried Tim Holtz's tag die? It makes a perfect full size tag. I actually cut about an inch off the bottom of mine because my background stamp wasn't long enough to cover it completely. Here's the tag I made with it:
Gorgeous, Holly! That's a good tag suggestion -- I like that the original and bigz sizzix dies cut through chipboard ... sometimes I just want something a little more substantial than just card stock. Good suggestion!!
As for the Spellbinders shapes, yes, I have a couple label sets that I've pulled out to use. And the topnote from SU, too!
I have an SU! tag punch with the matching stamp set. I love that I can stamp and then cut out the tags. I also have several Sizzix bigz tag dies. They work great if you just want to cut a bunch out or thicker materials.

My favorite it SU's Two Tags Die. I like the long one that is on there because of the perforations that go all the way the tag for easy layering. And the other one is fun since it has the built in fold and closure.
