Today's my littlest sister's birthday...and here is a zany card fold to match her quirky style!
Let's make Triangle Flap Fold Cards!
They are really easy once you know the trick. (For a few pix to go along with the explanation, flip or flop over to my blog.)
The HOW TO Steps:
1. Cut a 2 x 3 inch template out of a scrap of paper. Fold in half at 1.5 inches.
2. Cut a piece of double sided patterned paper 3 x 12 inches. Fold in half at 6inches. Then, place your template on the right hand side. With a pencil, make a light dot, right in the center of the crease. Basically, it will be 2 inches from the right side and 1.5 inches from the top. You will do this to the top of the card. Then open the card and repeat to the inside.
3. Use a craft knife to make your slices. Tip to remember. Open your card up before cutting. The top side is cut from the center point to the top right edge. And the inside, or bottom of the card, is cut from the center mark to the bottom corner.
4. Then, tuck the folds cuts together and use your decorating talent to make it unique!
Edited: OR....there is a tutorial on the Resource Page with a different set of dimensions....with a video!!! (Search for "slit latch gift holder.") Thanks, Beate!!

F4A87 Tis the Season
Interesting card fold, Dawn! I was so confused at first I decided not to make a card, then I couldn't help but try it. After I got it cut and the flaps folded right, it was cool! I kept the design very simple because as I said in my post, I'd already confused myself enough for one day! :Heehee!
I'm glad to see someone used this fun card fold in a challenge! I saw a card like this a few weeks ago, and I made one back then. It's really not that hard to do.
It will be fun to see the different ways people decorate it.
Thanks, Dawn, for the challenge!

HYCCT In a Flap by Cook22 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
After I worked out the right dimensions for my template, instead of marking the outside and then the inside, I just stuck my paper piercer through both layers to give me the start point for cutting. Fun, I'll definitely try this again - probably with your dimensions as mine made my triangle take up too much depth in the card ;-).
If you want to, you can upload your card in the gallery for that project. It's under Technique Spotlight galleries - Holiday Blitz - Slit Latch Gift Card Holder

Thanks for that, Beate. Mine is in the HYCCT gallery, but it's nice to know for next time.

PAPER Piercer
Hi Sabrina! When I figured how the flaps folded, I made my template with a pierced hole, as well. I did that to make sure I got the exact center to get the cuts right on my actual printed paper. It worked.

Triange Flap Fold Tutorial
Hi Beate! Thanks for providing this link! Resources was the first place I looked for a video but couldn't find it because I was only looking for it by the name of Triangle Flap Fold. I'm sure between Dawn adding the "extra' pic and this tutorial, many members will make a card for the challenge.
