Saw this on facebook...

Owen was diagnosed with standard-risk ALL (leukemia) on June 28, 2006 at the age of 3 1/2. He actually did not seem that sick.It was by the grace of God that we decided to take him to urgent care while on vacation in Door County Wisconsin because his glands were swollen and his color was off. He never had fevers or seems to lack energy. We learned that his white blood count was at 25,000 and his hemoglobin was at 5 from urgent We transferred him to Green Bay for blood products and then drove him to Childrens in Minneapolis to begin treatment. After 18 months of treatment, Owen relapsed in his Central Nervous System at the end of February, 2008. In March 2009, Owen finished the intensive phase of his new protocol, ending with 16 hospitalizations and countless days spent in clinic. He will now undergo over 100 weeks of maintenance therapy which includes 11 week cycles - 4 weeks of iv chemo followed by 7 weeks of oral chemo. Owen began first grade in September 2009 and is hoping to stay on schedule with his schooling. Not only is Owen on schedule with his academics - he is thriving. He finished treatment on 5-5-10.Praise be to God.

Owen relapsed in his bone marrow on August 4, 2011. He will undergo chemotherapy to achieve remission and then receive a transplant.

October 13th 2011 Owen will begin the transplant process he will be given harsh high dose chemotherapy and then be given a Bone Marrow Transplant. Owen will be in the hospital away from all of his friends including his big Sister Avery!!!!
