Default What stamp company or style do you miss?

I really miss PSX (Personal Stamp Exchange). I just loved their style; not cute or funky just realistic and pretty. I have several including some of the botanicals. I used to have the catalogs too, which were filled with great ideas. I liked the old style Magenta too. Their newer stuff just doesn't do it for me. Big sigh... I guess I'm getting old huh?:(

What out of business company or style of stamps do you miss?

I miss Sweet Celebrations. They were a small home-party stamp company many years ago. I signed up for a while and was my best customer. I still use the stamps. They were my intro to unmounted stamps. I have never been able to find out why they went out of business. Anyone out there hear what happened???

I miss PSX too. My very first stamps were PSX. I collect the botanicals, the birds, Pamela Silin-Palmer and Tasha Tudor.

I miss the backgrounders and stampblocks by CHF. I hope that the new owners bring some of these back!

I also miss the J Wright ( Laffs Happen ) collection by Stamps Happen. They are so funny! I also collect those on Ebay.

I loved the botanicals too Barbara! I have a few of them, I was in the middle of collecting them when they went out of business. Now I tell myself I don't NEED any more stamp$

I miss PSX too but I'm so glad I bought a lot of them years ago; these are the stamps I will never get rid of. Also glad I got a lot of CHF backgrounds last year.

I was sad to see Lizzie Anne Designs go, I have some of their sets and there were still more I wanted to buy.

I also have to admit that I liked Stampin Up's style better when I first bought from them, which was about eight or nine years ago. They used to carry a lot more for scrapbookers than they do now. In fact, they even had a separate small scrapping catalog, and it seems like when they did away with that, the scrapbooking seemed to fizzle out.

I too miss PSX - their stamps had such detail and were really good quality. I also miss Elzybells (UK) and Lizzie Anne Designs. LAD had (among other things) the CUTEST snowman stamps which I would love to have in my collection.

I miss PSX too! I used to have some of their botanical images, but got rid of them because they didn't fit the style of stamping I was doing back then. Now I wish that I still had them!

I miss a stamp company called A' La Art. They had a wonderful artist who drew very "realistic" fantasy images -- fairies, dragons, knights, princesses. Alas, they went out of business many years ago.

I also miss Stamp Oasis. I loved their "Goddess" collection. I think some of their images are still available through another company, but not one located in the United States.

Of course, current companies are making so many images which I love, but can't afford to buy! So I suppose I shouldn't mourn too much. :p

I too, miss PSX stamps! I received my SU! holiday catty, and there is a house in one of the sets that really reminds me of a stamp I have from PSX that is a winter house, gated, with a wreath on the front. I couldn't believe the similarities when I saw my new catty!

Elzybells. I placed several orders & bought a lot before she shut down, but I had so many more on my wish list!

I miss Cornish Heritage Farms!!! I'm an SU demo, but this company was the only company that I still bought stamps from occasionally, besides SU. I loved their backgrounders, and some of their lines were lovely. Julia Stainton had a whole line of stamps that I really liked, but didn't buy - maybe the new owners will start making her stamps (I guess that's up to her since she owns the rights to those stamp sets). Mona Lisa used to be here on SCS and she had some great sentiment sets. And there's a little girl at a piano (a large stamp) that I bought because I'm a piano teacher. And now I have 4 granddaughters whose parents are musical and awesome piano players, so hopefully they will play someday!

Kim Hughes designed a line of stamps for CHF too, but now she has her own stamp company (can't remember the name of it), so hopefully those will all be made available eventually.

It was very interesting to me that a VERY successful (at least it seemed so from the outside observer) stamp company went out of business because the owners chose to move and do some other things.

I too miss PSX. Even though Inkadinkado has something similiar to their botanical range I find it is too limited. I also miss the Precious Moments range by Stampendous.

PSX are still my favorite. It was the first stamp I ever bought. I have a number of them, but wish they were still around. I also really liked Delafield and I also liked the older style of Magenta. I miss having local stamp stores with examples and one I went to had a stamp club that met once a month and had fun making cards, sharing ideas, etc.

You and I have a lot in common. My first stamp was the PSX botanical pansy. I miss my two local stores too and the paper arts guild. Everything has changed so much in the stamping world in the last 10 years. I feel so old :(

I agree with this. I was disappointed when they went to the home business. To be fair, I haven't checked them out at all since they went that route, so maybe I would be more impressed then I think I would.

I'm not disappointed at all. Same great quality products - love their cling mount stamps (they actually cling!) I have a workshop every month at my house with my consultant and gfs and get lots of free product. My consultant is great. You should definitely check them out imho. =)

I love PSX. I am slowly collecting the botanicals. I started my collection with the botanical alphabet. They are so beautiful! I have one CHF that I got before they went OOB. I miss my LSS, especially Recollections.

I have a few PSX but I was never very familiar with them. What I miss are the really, really old style DOTS (now Close to My Heart) stamps. I miss the ultra cutesy designs (not the wood-mounted part). They were super expensive so I don't have many of them, but every time I see an old DOTS stamp, I buy it up. I also miss Angi B & Co. I love their ultra cutesy, country style designs. They remind me of rougher old-style DOTS designs. I know that some Angi B & Co. images live on, at SmARTworks, and another company (I've forgotten by now).

It's Paper Smooches I love her style! I have a few of her sets.
