Title: ABC/123 VSBN: Letters A/B Hostess: Mary Pat (Mary_Pat419) Keyword: Fall11MiniVSBN1 Day/Date: Friday, August 19, 2011 Time: 6PM
Welcome to our Fall VSBN Academy. During your time here you will work on your personal ABC Album, the Subject is yours to choose. Each Academy Teacher will share with you what Subject they chose. You are to work on the Letters that they share with you. However, you do not need to use their word (unless you want too). The challenge will be their 1-2-3 steps below. Enjoy and be sure to share your page here and to use the correct keyword. Read the rules below your Teacher's challenge to be sure to get included for and Award or Recognition. Need a Subject idea? Check out this thread for inspiration: ABC Album Ideas
For my ABC album, I have decided to work on my DD1s High School Memories. She just started her Sophmore year this past Monday (so this truly is a Back To School week for us!) and I didn't want to fall behind by waiting until her Senior year...our memories aren't that good and she may forget names as the years go on ;-)
My challenge: Choose 1 SCS layout from your Favorites for your A or B page Use 2 or more photos Use 3 types of papers
Here is the GALLERY for this challenge...leave a little luv for everyone!
UPLOADING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. To be considered for VSBN Recognition, ALL CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON Sunday, August 28, 2011using the correct Keyword. Each letter can be represented as an upload either individuall or as a double page spread.
2. You have a total 2 working hours to complete the challenge (the concept is you can complete 1 page for each letter represented using the challenge as a guide). For contest purposes, 1 'Letter' per participant per challenge will be eligible to earn award/recognition. For example: if you complete 2+ 'A' indivdual pages for this challenge, and upload each of them to the gallery you can only win one award/recognition for only one of your pages; other 'A' pages are part of the gallery to share but cannot win any award/recognition. If you upload a double page spread for 1 Letter as one upload, it will be considered one upload; please do not upload the pages individually or they will not be considered a double page spread.
3. It is the VSBN Challenge Host's decision to award/recognize pages that best represent her challenge based on the criteria in the challenge. Please be sure to write your description of how you interpreted his/her challenge in your Upload Description.
4. Please remember to put in the correct KEYWORD: Fall11MiniVSBN1 when uploading your image; a wrong keyword means your submission may not be seen for consideration. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in this chat thread to be sure you layout is seen by the host and all visitors.

I have a question. I found a sketch on my computer from SCS. But can't find it in the gallery. It must be from way back. So can I just attach the photo of the sketch here in the chat thread so you can see it?

Sure! It's all about having fun and sharing what you do :-)
Okay I think I'm all set and I have the Master Thread going. Let me know if a link doesn't work :-) I hear thunder in the distance, hopefully I won't get the boot but if I do...Have fun!!!
*Nervous* Can I do 2 pages in 2 hours! :p
OK, off to see examples and make a shaky start....
Don't be nervous. It's all on the honor system and if you can't do it in two hours that's fine too...it's all about having fun and getting those photos scrapped! You'll do fine!
A newbie question - SCS layouts in favourites? Is this a special section of the gallery? Can someone link me in please?
Since your a newbie feel free to use any kind of sketch. When you look at pages in the Gallery and you really like them you can hit the Favorites button. When you pull up My Gallery, right below that link is a My Favorites link and it'll pull up all those pages you've liked over the years.
Thanks! Then my 'homework' is to head over to the Gallery later and start my Favourites file!!
Hey...we all were new once! Everyone here is so nice to help out so always be sure to ask questions. Many of us 'hang' out in the Scrapbook Goals thread so be sure to check out HERElater and join us :-)

So I really like Mary Pat's idea (theme) for her book. I have been thinking about mine through out this past week and I decided that since my DH and I have been married for 26 years and we have had the unique opportunity of traveling around a lot. I will put together a book using the idea (theme) of all the places we have been to see.
What are some of the other ideas (theme) people are scrapping?
Everything looks good - up and running!! Working on my sketches for my book for later!! Keep those posts and pictures coming - please!!
Each Host has their Sample pages and then also a link to the Gallery for that particular challenge. Also, when you're viewing a page you'll see KEYWORDS in the descriptive so you can always click on one of the keywords and it'll pull up other pages using the same Keyword. So be sure to come back occassionally and check out the Gallery since pages will be added all week as they are completed.
Happy Scrappy Friday Night VSBN!! Woohoo! How is everyone tonight?! WELCOME New to VSBN Scrappers! Glad you're with us! GREAT to see you back with us Anavon, always love your inspiration!
Since I had the perk of being a hostess, my pages were done during preview so I'm off to upload! (hint, perk of being a hostess) I'll be back to share links ....

The weather is starting to Rock & Roll here so I need to get off-line and unplug the laptop. Lela will have the next challenge up at 8 PM. When the weather clears I'll come back to rejoin...or, I'll see ya tomorrow. Leave any questions here and I'll be sure to get back to them. Also, don't forget to link your completed pages for this challenge to the thread.
Since we have a few new people, if someone has that link to how you upload ...can you post it here?

HI! What a good idea for your book...are you going to start with Alaska?
I'm going to make the Dman a book of his baby days...I think he'll like that and I can probably use it later in life to blackmail him
I thought I'd be DGS free but they only just left so I've lost about 45 minutes of work time...off to try again now that I'm alone!

I hope that I did it right! I am doing a Grandmas ABC album! (8x I plan to use all the photos I didn't use in the big albums.
And I found the LO in the gallery after all. Here is my A & B pages for your challenge Mary Pat! Thank you for the challenge!
And I love the idea of the ABC Album!
I'm sure you can all appreciate that I've now started to scrap like a "mad woman" as my youngest son starts his SENIOR year in HS on Tuesday next week! We had SO much fun with my older son albums at his Open House, JT is counting on me to have his albums ready as well (no pressure) so ... I did pages for albums
I have missed everybody too... Life has been really really crazy at my house.
I am glad to see that the thread is still alive and well and it has been fun checking out all the new faces and friends that have joined us.
Yes, yes ... what is it they say...."the more things change, the more things stay the same". We're still scrappin' and chatting! I think the nice thing is that even if you can't stop by often, you still know where we are when you do have time!
I can appreciate the "crazy" part of life as with any family and growing kids. Hope your DH is doing well?

okay... so my scrapping mojo just went down the drain. I have my pages already for my photos and I can't get my old computer to boot and staying running long enough to print my pictures. I have been so busy that since we moved I have not even set up my computer until now. I have just used either my son's laptop or my Iphone. Now I want pictures and they are stuck on my old hard drive.... :(. Guess I am done until DH gets home and can help me.

DH is doing very well and being in a warmer climate and at the beach has really made an improvement in his health. He is still a work-alcoholic, but he loves what he does, so that helps.

That is SO good to hear! We're looking at moving next Fall to warmer climate after my youngest DS goes off to college. I can appreciate that you can only take so much NE or in my case Midwest Winter, esp my DH. Unfortunately, JT is going back to MI to go to school and we'll be farther away so it's hard to think about but we're busy looking and decluttering for a move.

Sharon
This was a fun layout to complete! Know how you have some that are your faves?! I was inspired by Cheryl's Page "Climb Into History". I'm going to add the link to my page now that I found it!
