Need a Navy sentiment....

I need a sentiment to put on a card for an 18 year old girl in Navy Basic Training who's a little bit homesick. Any suggestions?

Not very original but...Hang in there (with an anchor), Keep on Sailing or You're always sailing into my thoughts.. Or a ship and call it the sailors name as in USS Debra. Son's best friend is in basic training in Chicago area and I just send him cards telling him how proud we are of him, to keep up all the great work, etc. Whatever you decide to send she will just be thrilled to have mail.

Thanks for the suggestions! I actually (should have mentioned!) have the card done using a GI Jane image. I think I'm putting too much thought into it and just need to say something like best wishes, thinking of you, sending smiles, etc. Just a little something that'll fit on the card front.... maybe on a sentiment flag or tag. But I love the anchor/sailing ideas... I'll definitely keep that in mind for future cards! And you're right... she'll appreciate it no matter what, I hope!

How coincidental... this girl is in Basic near Chicago, too! Great Lakes, IL actually!

They are both at the same place then. I have sent Thinking of you, You're in my thoughts, hang in there, etc. The friend is moving to another post next weekend though. Small world sometimes isn't it? But I know no matter what you do she will love it. (And don't worry I do the same thing--think too much and get stuck).

I was in the Army Reserves about a hundred years ago, and while at basic training I was pathetically grateful for any mail I received. Make a bunch of different cards and send them all on different days. She'll be the envy of her platoon (or whatever they call it in the Navy).

stampertammy...I would love to send her a card of encouragement..poor thing..I am sure it is a shock to find yourself somewhere and know you have to stay there...away from family...if you want to pm the address to me...I will send her a card.
