Can you believe this is our 3rd year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009 & 2010 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2011! Let's keep scrappin'.
It was SO fun to see everyone's goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2011! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person will post what their scrapbook page goal is for February. We will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month. Along with the scrapbook page goal for this month, if you'd like to play along with the "Using Stash Crew" decide what your scrapping budget will be for that month.
*In this thread, we'll track how we do for the month. Look HERE to share and track your Annual Goals. *
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done, use more in our stash before buying new (well at least keep track) and if you want to play along w/ saving --- save $$ at the same time which becomes scrapping budget $ for next year -- or vacation money or Holiday fund!
Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2011 Scrapbook Challenge! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!
(Pssst...in case you're interested in the "history", here's the thread that started it all 4 years ago...
We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "sbc11aug"

I'm SURE you will all agree that we need to go back and add in our focus on our scrapping budgets! It's a good time of the year to start as we'll all want some goals or resolutions to use more of what we have. Some of us have been using the "budget" idea since we started, others not so much. There are several ways to do this:
1. Set a $$ spending budget for the month & track your expenditures against budget set.
2. Match your scrapbook/stamping spending by putting the same amount away in savings that you spend on scrapbook/stamp stuff. This gives you extra $$ for either more scrap/stamp spending or something fun
3. Set a "Scrap to Spend" page goal. Come up with a goal to complete before you spend more $$ (for instance, "complete 25 pages before spending"
4. Do a combination or all of them!
Many times scrapping and stamping supply purchases are "impulse" buys. We want to encourage not only LOTS of Pages completed but creative, productive use of our STASH. Let's see if together we can be "CREATORS" and not just "COLLECTORS". (Thanks MP )
You do NOT have to set a budget to play along with Scrappin' Goal Challenge. This is only for those of us who would like to play
I will post our Scrap Budgets here...let's see if we can band together and encourage everybody to keep on goal

Today is July 31 and I just finished 2 pages and need 1 to finish my July goal of 4...how sad that it's down to the last day :-( The beginning of August is going to be hectic, we're off on a mini vacation (I think, dh still hasn't made up his mind). School starts the 15th for the girls and dh has off starting the 4th returning to work the 17th...that means I can reclaim my daytime hours back. :-) I love my family but I'm ready for a few hours to call my own again, lol! With all that in mind and the mini vsbn I think I'll shoot for 10 pages this month.
oh to be scrappy again......although I have been doing crafty stuff... just more kid related. DS1 cut some 2x4 wood pieces for me this week and I'm making wooden blocks for fall and winter. He can do the cutting, sanding, (actually everything) and I get new decor for the Fall/Winter. (He made some name blocks too for his room). We are leaving on vacation next week and I want to take some scrappy stuff along!
will have to look at what my goals are..... I just enjoyed a walk in the July gallery though

I was wondering about your avatar, Mary Pat! I think I might see if I can come up with a challenge for the next VSBN. I'll keep my eye out for the announcement.
Lela -- please put me down for 12 pages. I went over goal in July, so I've upped it by 2 pages. It'd love to reach my year's goal by October so I can feel good about doing other holiday things in November and December. (Plus we're going to Disney World in Oct. and I'm sure I'll have lots of new pics to scrap that can be icing on the cake! lol)
I'd love to join in the August challenge. My goal is 15 pages.
Gemiel
That's terrific, Gemiel! Welcome! You'll find a lot of great and supportive scrapping friends here. If you have any questions, just post them here in the thread. There's always someone willing to help!
I'm in for 20 pages again this month, still have lots to do on baby books for my two friends...and one of these days I'd love to get back to working on my own stuff ;)

That is so cool. Was he doing any of this for boy scouts? We haven't gotten to the point yet where they are doing woodworking type projects for DGS. I bought some of the blocks from SU with the thought that DGS could paint them for Christmas Gifts this coming year.

He didn't do it for Scouts, but I thought about sharing it as a project for his leader. He's ahead of the other Webelos in his den, so he didn't need to do the project for his craftsman pin. He is looking for things to do this summer and it just happens that gpa gave him a new hand saw last weekend. I knew he could do the project so I put him to work. I've been eyeing them up for a long time! Because of his training in Scouts though (mainly through Dad's teaching for the pin), he knew how to use the tools and the vice (sp) so we picked out a spare piece of lumber and before I knew it we had 4 sets of blocks from one to two pieces of lumber. I'll try to post some pics this week. I'm thinking about having him make some for gifts this holiday too.

I guess put me down for 4 again. Thank goodness for vacation in July otherwise I don't think I would have gotten my quota done! I'm not sure how this month will turn out yet. DGS is going to VBS this week and having a blast so far. He's even suggested that he'd like to go to this church full time and since it's a denomination that I actually belonged to in the past, that sounds good to me! It's also a LOT smaller than the last one we've been going too (over 1500 members compared to less than 300 in this one) so it should be a bit more personalized. Won't feel like you can get lost in the crowd, iykwim?
Well, I really should make up for not reaching my goal last month, but I have to be realistic since we're going on vacation. Let's say 20 layouts this month. Already working on one this morning! Lela, I'm up to 93 layouts YTD.
August??? HOW can it possibly be August already???!!!
Well, this summer has been total madness (making memories, rather than preserving them?) but I am going to help my mom with two albums in the next couple of weeks so I'm pretty sure I can accomplish my goal of .... 40!
(Plus I just got 200 photos from snapfish that I am realllllly anxious to play with!!!)

Val, what an awesome skill to learn young! I think those would be great gifts esp when your friends and family find out your DS helped ;)

Good morning y'all! I need an update on the challenges...looks like the schedule changed...is that just for summer or a new schedule. I haven't been gone THAT long. LOL. Looks like we get all the challenges on Friday instead of one day a week...and every Friday doesn't seem to be a Sally sketch...did y'all give her the summer off? LOL.
ETA: I didn't mean to make anyone feel bad!!!! Just wondering...I know it's lotsa work...and its summer! I kind of got lost...it looked like a ghost town & no one left a note!
I sure do appreciate the work. I should say so more often.

Welcome and Welcome back to those new and returning! You will find lots of inspiration here.
Besides the evident heat, did we skip summer? Mine has been so crazy busy.
Lela, put me down for 5 pages this month. I hope to exceed that and catch up. I placed my first SU workshop order and ordered MDS for myself. I'm sure I'll get several pages done just playing and learning it.
I need to apologize to you all for not having a variety challenge the last few weeks. I will have one up tomorrow (Wednesday) and it will be a COOL one.
We're off to meet with the owner of new dance center opening here this month and then I have to work in the office.
On early today because I have an eye appointment and most likely will not be able to see after they dialate my eyes for a few hours (or longer ~ green eyes don't always behave with dialation!) Lela & I are running the Fall VSBN and we need several 'Teachers' to help us help everyone who participates work on an A-B-C album. Be sure to check out the VSBN thread and we hope you'll be able to help us out and/or participate!
Sorry I can't help you out Melissa, I'm terrible at keeping up with the weekly challenges :-( I think the summer has thrown people off schedule. I'm not sure but I think the schedule has changed for some challenges to every two weeks since there is low participation. I'm sure someone will be better at answering than me.

Hi Melissa! Sally is working on updating a thread somewhere with the weekly challenges. Here is the schedule I think:
Monday - Inspiration challenge (may be every other week)
Tuesday - Digital challenge
Wednesday - Variety challenge (I've flaked this summer on posting though)
Thursday - Thursday challenge (posted in goals thread)
Friday - Sketch challenge (every other week I think)
