I love 3d stuff; I always think things can be useful as well as beautiful.
Valli, I would so love to see your TARDIS; we are a family of Whovians and I am cross stitching my way through the Whovian universe; doctor (Tennant) done, dalek done, now looking for Capt'n Jack and a Tardis to do....

Here is a great blog on 3D paper projects for you guys. It isn't stamped 3D things but all kinds of paper projects, toys, etc. and is quite interesting to look through.
They give away free 3D templates every week that you can print and assemble.
I think those would be especially good for kids to do.

I had to look up TARDIS because I had no idea what that was . . . but man o man . . . I'm interested now! LOL I'd love to see it when you get it done. That's going to be a lot of measuring and precision cutting.
Bugga . . . thanks for the link . . . I'm going to go have a looksee right now.
My head hurts over this one already LOL
Here's what I have so far. This will be my template for the front bottom portion only. The rest still has to be worked out. It takes a lot of time to get it right because I always want every piece to fit on a 12 x 12 piece of CS. It's the beginning of the process. The actual construction probably won't start until tomorrow.
Anyone interested in seeing progress pictures? How the process for a project like this works?

Wenchie, I love your blog! Please do post pics in progress. I hope to learn from you!
Bugga, thanks for the link. That place is so inspiring!
Karen, do you have photos of your stitching? I used to stitch, but I can't see and I can't count  so I don't do much now, but I bought a lighted magnifier so maybe one day...

So nice to see some interest and other 3D'rs!
I didn't get to work on this at all yesterday. I had to look at it for a while first because it was going all lopsided on me. I hate when that happens LOL
Here's what I've got done so far . . . . it's not pretty yet, but it will be in a few days. The size of this so far is 9 1/2" wide x 7" tall x 6 1/2" deep.
On to the top half now.

Valli - you rock! That an mind-boggling project you are trying! I do love 3-D projects, but mine usually are done stamping, not "putting togther" - I love 3-D flowers and birds, etc. Thanks for sharing!

Valli,
I would love to see you 3D Paper Tardis when you are done. Also any instructions too if you don't mind sharing. My daughter and all of her friends are so into Dr. Who. For her birthday we had a cake with a picture of space with the tardis flying. My email is : [email protected] if you don't mind sharing your creation :>)

Oh I love love love the beautiful 3D flowers. You know, the kind that look rolled. Wish I knew how to make them.
Valli, do you have a picture of the tardis you're thinking of making? I'd love to see it.

Wenchie, check out this blog by so talented fellow SCS'er Kitty. She makes the most beautiful flowers using simple punches and a stylus.

Ditto, I would love to see Valli's TARDIS, too. And I would love to see your cross stitch work, Karen. Did you find the patterns or make them yourself? (Love that you chose Tennant's Doctor, he's adorable.)

Who'd have thought there were so many Who fans here?
I don't have anything for my TARDIS on paper yet. I kick a lot of ideas around mentally for a while, but I'm about to start searching for the perfect blue cardstock...any suggestions? And what will the interior be like?...Maybe a bridge that's been archived...hmm...gotta go sketch!

TIME AND DIMENSION RELATIVE IN SPACE - TARDIS.
My daughter bought a plastic blow up one that I am going to use as a model for my card one because after seeing all this stuff, I have got to try and make one, but how to do the inside as it is larger than the outside is going to be a challenge :-)
I still haven't found a pattern for the cross stitch yet....I guess I may have to fork out the $$$ ...
