Default Hosting a Greeting Card party...

Has anyone ever done this before? I have been encouraged by my friends and family to start selling my cards,(( Lord knows I have enough of them)) and I was thinking of having a card party at my home...you know, kind of like a Pampered Chef or Tupperware party, only with cards Of course there will be drinks and snacks available, as well!
Have any of you ever done this or gone to a party such as this?
I would love to hear of any suggestions, tips or ideas you have

Thanks!

no I have not. but it sounds fun and interesting. maybe you should have a portfolio ready for those who would prefer to order multiples of one card???

I would plan out the party very carefully so you don't get in over your head with orders you can't handle.

Hmmm... something different from the kinds of party I have heard of. Maybe you wanna give a small little token to the ones who have purchased a certain amount. Setup a few tiers instead of giving bulk discounts.

I think this is a really fun idea! It sounds like you are planning to sell your stash, is that your intent? If you don't stamp a greeting on the inside of your cards, you could have different sentiment stamps at the ready so you could stamp a greeting if the buyer chooses. Also, I wouldn't offer a volume discount for handcrafted items; if they were computer generated, yes, but each card takes time to make. They are not like storebought which are run off a printing press....

I would really love to hear how this works out if you plan to go for it. Good luck!

Thank you for your suggestions I do plan on selling my stash and I also planned on giving out little secret "prizes" in stapled brown paper bags to everyone when they leave..bookmark, card, magnet, etc....kind of like a little thank you for coming..having ready made sentiments is a good idea, because most of my cards are blank inside...
Thanks again...I'm planning it for sometime in September.
I'll let you know how I make out!
Have a great day everyone!
