Can you believe this is our 3rd year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009 & 2010 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2011! Let's keep scrappin'.
It was SO fun to see everyone's goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2011! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person will post what their scrapbook page goal is for February. We will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month. Along with the scrapbook page goal for this month, if you'd like to play along with the "Using Stash Crew" decide what your scrapping budget will be for that month.
*In this thread, we'll track how we do for the month. Look HERE to share and track your Annual Goals. *
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done, use more in our stash before buying new (well at least keep track) and if you want to play along w/ saving --- save $$ at the same time which becomes scrapping budget $ for next year -- or vacation money or Holiday fund!
Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2011 Scrapbook Challenge! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!
(Pssst...in case you're interested in the "history", here's the thread that started it all 4 years ago...
We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "sbc11jul"

I'm SURE you will all agree that we need to go back and add in our focus on our scrapping budgets! It's a good time of the year to start as we'll all want some goals or resolutions to use more of what we have. Some of us have been using the "budget" idea since we started, others not so much. There are several ways to do this:
1. Set a $$ spending budget for the month & track your expenditures against budget set.
2. Match your scrapbook/stamping spending by putting the same amount away in savings that you spend on scrapbook/stamp stuff. This gives you extra $$ for either more scrap/stamp spending or something fun
3. Set a "Scrap to Spend" page goal. Come up with a goal to complete before you spend more $$ (for instance, "complete 25 pages before spending"
4. Do a combination or all of them!
Many times scrapping and stamping supply purchases are "impulse" buys. We want to encourage not only LOTS of Pages completed but creative, productive use of our STASH. Let's see if together we can be "CREATORS" and not just "COLLECTORS". (Thanks MP )
You do NOT have to set a budget to play along with Scrappin' Goal Challenge. This is only for those of us who would like to play
I will post our Scrap Budgets here...let's see if we can band together and encourage everybody to keep on goal

I am going to set a goal of 10 pages again for July.
And since I am almost at my yearly goal, ( 56 of 60 ) I will up that yearly goal to 100 pages!
When I joined this thread, I would have never dreamed of doing that many!:o
Whoa. Where did June go?? even with VSBN (which looked fabulous, btw!) I only got two pages done for all of June. Ugh. I WILL do better! haha! We'll shoot for 12 this month!

Even though I went over my goal last month I am going to stick to a lower number as I never know what life will throw my way! I am setting a goal of 10 this month.
July 0/10

Ok, so I totally did NOT reach my goal last month, but I seem to have rediscovered my scrappy mojo *and* I've got two baby books to work on, so I'm going to stick with 20 as my goal for this month. My DH is going to be super busy at work so I need a way to entertain myself, right? Maybe I'll even catch up on my yearly goal!

I didn't count up how many pages I did for June, but I think it was about half. :( Guess I didn't count on being so busy. This month I have to get my rear in gear and get some things done before my husband comes home. I need to do a mini-album for my DD's friend who moved away and I would like to get at least 25 pages done. Soooo - I will need to lock myself inside the house instead of going antiques shopping!!
Put me down for 25 + mini album ;)
Also - I know it is early to be thinking about Christmas, but I am going to be making another December Daily album this year if anyone is interrested in joining me.

What is a December Daily album? What does it mean "join you"?
What is a December Daily album? What does it mean "join you"?
Sharon
December Daily album is a special Christmas album that celebrates the season of christmas. You start on Dec. 1st up until the 25th (or some ppl do the entire month) and take pictures, recipes, quotes, and capture what means most to you at christmas, what your family traditions are, or just the joys of the season. Some ppl like to gather their goodies ahead of time and put them in a special spot or make it ahead of time.
'Joining me' just means we can give each other encouragement to get the job done, share examples or ideas, etc. Usually there are about 5 of us who give it a go. I have been doing it for about 3 years now!

It got by me too! I am thankful for VSBN because I did get pages done but really hoping to get more done in July...we'll see. Looking at the calendar, it already looks a little crazy, LOL! ;)

I've not done one before because I thought I would not ever finish it. However, thinking about putting the pages together ahead of time and just adding photos may just work for me? I'm going to think about it, thanks Liz! Great Idea!

Lela, I figured out that I need to do 21 pages a month to hit my goal, so let's go for broke in July and do 25. That's a lot but I'm hoping I can keep motivated with CTMH Convention coming up! BTW, when is the next VSBN? I had such a blast doing this one that I can't wait for next time.

Thank you for explaining. It might have been a neat thing to do when we had kids at home. Now no one but us, and the kids and GKs all live out of state. I get a lot photos the few days we are together. I could probably make a Christmas with just the few days worth of photos that we take. Between my photos, my daughters and our grandsons, and sometimes our son, we have enough Christmas photos for a huge album. LOL
Your pages are fantastic. What an album to treasure! Thanks for sharing the link.
Okay, I have to share a story. As you know, I have been working on my Paris Album. We went 20 years ago on our 25th. Now, my DH made a rash promise when we were there that he would take me back on our 50th. So, I have always given him a hard time about it. In 5 years we should be going back. Today, as I was working on the album, reading him funny stories from the diary I kept for the trip, and going thru the photos, he said this to me. " Does this mean that if I take you for your 50th in five years, that 25 years from now, you will be doing that album?" Well, I won't tell you how old I will be in 25 years, but I think, if I am still here I will be too old for this scrappin stuff! LOL

I think some would say you'd never be too old! But that is funny about DH. Did you tell him it would now be done while you're on the trip?
I tried to scrap on the way to vacation today but I couldn't see my screen with the sun coming in the car window so I had to put it away but we are stopping over night at a hotel about 2/3 of the way to the beach. Nice hotel and free internet! woohoo!
I'll put my goal at 4 for the month since I over did last month's goal and this month my DH started ANOTHER LLC which means setting up another company and now his new partner needs a bookkeeper too! So now I'll have 3 sets of books to keep but at least this time, I'll be able to bill them for the service and make a little cash on the side.....just no free dinners Once vacation is over it'll be interesting to see how long it takes me to review all the work at work and then finish setting up the 3 companies on Peachtree on the new laptop we bought for the job.
Have a happy holiday just in case I can't figure out how to get internet once we get to the beach.....
Terry, I couldn't do it on the road like you do. Or are you thinking by then I could be??
I do have the new laptop. But the digi is too hard for me. Did you see I tried a digi page for VSBN? Someone had suggested (was it you?) I print off the 8/2x11 and then scrap it on a 12x12 page. That is what I did. Here it is: 1st Digi.
I know nobody is around but me... but I uploaded two more pages.
Here is The Louvre
and here is Notre Dame
I am on a roll! I am going to finish this album or else! I think I have one or two pages left! So excited!

I loved it when you did it for VSBN but I have issues with internet at home so I wasn't able to comment. I love the idea of printing out the smaller digi and then putting it on the 12x12 in order to add things...it turned out great so I know you can do it! But as long as you do such awesome paper pages...why change yet? I'm sure (like me) you've got lots of stuff to use up anyway
I didn't make my goal for June, but that's OK. I think I'll shoot for 10 pages in July. If I keep that pace, I'll be over my yearly goal by the end of the year!
Sharon, I often print off digi pages in smaller formats (8x8 pages or collages of photos) and add them to a 12x12 piece of designer paper so I can embellish them. It's hard to get started with digi, but if you learn and try digi things a little at a time, it gets easier. Don't give up, but go easy on yourself!

I agree! I paid for a subscription to Elements Techniques a while back and I love reading about the different techniques available to do on Photoshop. I got this month's magazine a few days ago and remember Wendy, when the out of bounds technique was showcased here on SCS? Well, it's in this month's magazine and I actually was able to understand the directions and do it this time around! I had given up on it back then but it worked great this time and I've started a page using the picture I did it with..

Just baby steps!
I've been receiving Elements Techniques for over two years now. I'm always a happy camper when my new issue arrives each month! The website Elements Village is great too. I've gotten many an Elements question answered by going to that site!
Awesome that they were able to walk you thru the out of bounds technique! It's one of the new features on version 9. Before you had to use a different procedure. It creates such a fun effect!!
June went fast and I have a feeling July will go just as fast. I need the motivation from this thread to keep me going even if I do not reach my goal each month. I am way ahead from the years before I "posted" a goal.
Did I say I would do 10 pages this month?? Or did I stick with 12 and know I won't make it??
Whahoo! I am done with my Paris album! And I have done 5 pages towards my July goal! Here is Finished Paris Album.
Happy 4th, happy day everyone!
Sharon
HappyJuly 4th!
We went to some AWESOME Fireworks last night at a local highschool with great lawn seats! It was very fun.
Unfortunately I spent later last night and this morning in the ER. Seems my Gall Bladder doesn't like me anymore so I spent today in bed, tomorrow meeting with Surgeon and surgery Wed or Thur.

I finally finished up the layout I was doing the last couple of days experimenting with the "out of bounds" technique. Such a cool thing! This page also qualifies for a Thursday challenge that Tam posted back in January to use a "new" technique.

I agree Sharon! Summer seems to be flying by ... lots of fun plans here though so I think that helps although less scrapping, just more pictures to scrap later, LOL
