This is my story!
1. Whew, I don't know about you all, but I am glad
Back to School is over! Getting outa there sorta made me happy! Don't get me wrong, it was fun socializing with my fellow teapotter students, but the numbers! Oh those numbers! I hear we got outa there just in time too! Heard the adding and subtraction was being introduced just as we left! I knew that once we learned how to count, some huge opportunites would present themselves. Big, huge doors would open up for us and they have, our schooling has paid off! Word has gotten out that a certain group of individuals are the new, up and coming, professional , highly sought after and capable experts in numbers and counting! Because of our newly acquired expertise, we been commissioned by a rich and wealthy dude!
2. Meet Sir Gregory Edward Earl Henry Elliot Golfsalot III. I know, his name is alot to remember but he dare not drop any of the names that have been bestowed upon him! Its very important not to shorten his name and offend the family as it could be very costly. His given name is all tied into the vast wealth and riches of the various members of his family. If he drops a name, he loses that portion of inheritance and wealth! He is no dummy, it's not all about just being proper and living your life in the manner acceptable to the family. Nope, there is more to it than that!! Besides, his name isn't that difficult, all of his friends have accepted it. They just shortened it up a little and they call him by his initials, Sir GEE HE Golfsalot, III.
3. Well, the time has come and the wealth and riches are his. He can now do what he wants to do with plenty of money to do it! For many years, he has been asked about golf (probably because of his name) and he's very intrigued by it. It's time he has some fun with golf, but he's very nervous as he has heard it involves alot of numbers and he's not so good with numbers and counting. (Ha! Been there, done that!) He's heard various things, like you have to yell a number when your ball is outa control, the sticks you hit a ball with have numbers on them, the numbers on the sticks relate to the distance your ball might travel IF you hit it, the fancy green places where the little cup is buried part way into the ground where the ball falls in are numbered with numbered yellow flags, you have to count how many times you hit the ball (Yikes!), there are some sorta numbers they assign to you called a handicap, its important that your ball travels in big numbers (42,000 feet is really good, or is it 42,000 yards?) but your score at each hole should be little numbers (one is really good!). And people really pay attention to those numbers when you get to the end and you are at one of those numbered holes. The only thing that doesn't have to do with numbers are the birdies, eagles and bogies that show up after you finally get the ball in that hole. Bogie? Must be some sorta bird?

4. We get free room and board, all meals paid, and an expense account for tea, treats, special cookies and cakes just for just keeping track of the numbers! Whoot! And to be quite honest, if we mess up, who will know? Sir GEE HE Golfsalot, III has no clue and to be quite honest, he's not expecting to do very well anyway. But, just in case he brings Contrary Barry along (his accountant) we better have a back up plan. If it becomes evident we didn't learn our numbers so well last week and this whole golfing by numbers thing is a bust, we better go to Plan B, pretend we can golf and bring some golfing stuff . You know, clubs, teas (I mean tees), balls, flags, putting greens, holes, other expert golfers, etc. etc. And there is always Plan C, D, E and so forth. Maybe we can just bring something that ole Sir GEE HE Golfsalot, III might like spending his money on! Bowling, basketball, fishing, any of those sports that guys like to spend money on! Snort!
And listen up! You have to come in the back door if you embarrass your fellow Teapotters and wear those
goofy bloomer pant thingys with special socks and a dorky beret
like this.
CHALLENGE TRANSLATION:
Bringing masculine golf cards is the order of the day, first and foremost! But, if you can't do that, bring a masculine card, featuring any sport, past time, or something that a man might spend his money on! (Sports related in some way).
DESTINATION STATION: This week's destination is Harrisville, Pennsylvania.
