MMTPT152 ~ BACK TO SCHOOL, BACK TO SCHOOL, TO LEARN TO COUNT WOULD BE SO COOL!
WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY
THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TEAPARTY
AND CHALLENGE #152
Back to School, Back to School
To learn to count would be so cool!
Back to School, Back to School!
To prove that we are not a fool!
Back to School, Back to School!
I'm sure there's not a single rule!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
This is my story!
1. Whew! Can't believe that another month has gone by! This week is another round of Tickle a Teapotter Tuesday! Once a month the Teapotters get a little much needed appreciation from each other in the form of a wonderful hand made card from a fellow Teapotter! It's a little thank you for always sending cards to the Destination Station recipients each week. If you choose to participate in the Tickle a Teapotter Tuesday Card Exchange, you send your card off to a fellow Teapotter and at the same time you will receive one too!! The cool thing is, you don't know who you'll be gettin' your card from cuz I keep track of who is participating, draw names and secretly notify everyone who they are assigned to tickle!
2. Last month in the May Tickle a Teapotter thread, it became quite evident that the Teapotters don't know how to count! Well, some of them do, and all of them are very good at utilizing the number 42,000 in various scenarios, but it seems counting from 1 and continuing forward, not so much! Wanna good giggle? Just read the thread! Now don't get me wrong, I'm not pointing any fingers, as I must admit, I am leading the way in this inability!
3. I got to thinking about the need to maybe have a little brush up course on Teapotter counting! Yes, we can combine it with a teaparty and of course a cookie or two. Hey, maybe we can learn how to count using a fun little counting exercise, Count the Cookies! So, I have spent the past three weeks searching for the perfect Teapotter Teacher, the perfect school house in the perfect beautiful location. I went ahead and signed us up for counting lessons even though I only accomplished two of the three requirements. I found the perfect beautiful location and the perfect little school house. But the Teapotter Teacher? Not so much! She's a schoolmarm, strict, stringent, serious, severe in discipline, and shall I say, not very flexible or Teapotter-like! But hey, just look at the school house and the setting! How could I pass it up?
Back to School, Back to School
To learn to count would be so cool!
Back to School, Back to School!
To prove that we are not a fool!
Back to School, Back to School!
I'm sure there's not a single rule!
4. Rut roh! Meet Mrs. Estelle T. Stump, the school house grump! Stump, the Grump, for short! She's the schoolmarm who lives next door on that farm! Her pigs are immaculate, her rooster doesn't crow, her cows don't chew their cud, her chickens don't run around like their head's cut off, her goats don't eat everything in sight and her horses don't roll over in the dirt! Did you hear that Curt, the Squirt? She runs a top notch operation and she is even more strict at school! Yikes! But lets' not worry about that! How bad could it be? Worst case scenario is that she would get frustrated trying to control/teach the Teapotters and would storm out of the school house! Then we would have to teach ourselves how to count! Hey, that's not a half bad idear! Oooh, Oooh, that's the plan Dan! (Danny D. Dweaner, he's the blackboard cleaner! He's stressed, completely over-worked and just want's a cookie!)
Back to School, Back to School!
Be sure to bring your counting tool!
5. (Yikes, this is the first time I have had a #5! ~ What a blabber mouth!) Okay, we need to figure out how to teach each other how to count cuz you know Stump the Grump will flee the schoolhouse!! For sure we need to bring numbers, I think. No, they don't have to be in order! We will figure that out later! And maybe bring some counting tools? Anybody know how to teach someone how to count? Maybe some flashcards? Think back to kindergarten when you learned to count! Well, if you learned to count! I know, I know, that's a time ago! Snort! Remember those counting thingies, where you pushed little wooden beads from side to side, counting as you go? (Yeah, I am that old!) Bring those! Or some apples or oranges to count? Ooh, we can't forget to bring cookies! I heard frosted ones count the easiest! You get the picture!
Yes, the schoolhouse has a back door! And if you bring any multiplication, division or even subtraction, that will be where you enter! If someone says Go Big, Bring Trig! Don't do it, kay? Extra cookies if you bring a new teapotter typa teacher!!
CHALLENGE TRANSLATION:
Bring a card with a number on it. That is the most important requirement! Other things to bring ~ Anything! Anything that we can count, but there's gotta be at least two of that sumthin' on your card! We wanna be challenged, how hard is it to count one thing? As a matter of fact, if you bring just one thing you have to come in the back door!! This is serious, people! You get extra cookies if your bring 42,000 things on your card and you can count them all! You could even be the teacher! No, you don't get a salary!
DESTINATION STATION:
Every last Tuesday of the month is Tickle A Teapotter Week! How about sending your card to a fellow teapotter this week as a little payback or reward to all of those who participate in sending their cards to the recipient of the Destination Station each week. For more information on who to mail your card to if you chose to participate, please visit Post #233 in the Destination Station thread.
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT152 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? SCS has given me permission to create an email Teapot Tuesday Cheater Group and email the challenge out on the Friday before the Tuesday of the challenge so you girls can have the weekend to make your card. Send me a pm with your email address if you wanna be a Cheater! If you dont' want to cheat, I am posting a sneak peak on my blog each week showing you a glimpse of the following week's teapot as well as a hint of the story! It's at the end of the Teapot Tuesday Post each week. I usually post it sometimes during the weekend before the next Tuesday!
If you are confused about these challenges, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges. Feel free to grab this I survived Teapot Tuesday Badge for your blog!
I just came from the tickle thread - we aren't even up to 10 - and we are confused!! Too funny. Here is my card. Thanks for looking - this will be lots of fun!
Sorry about my numerical screw up! Would you believe in my youth I received the math medal for highest mark!! Put a few years on me and I can't even count to 2. This weeks teapot reminded me of this little white farm house. I number strip at the top is removable in case the recipient doesn't want it on the card. Our mail system should be up and running this week. Here is my "Enamelled Sunflowers"
Cheers, Elizabeth
My card for this week's challenge can be found here
I only had time to look at a few of the cards in the gallery, but from the few I have looked at. It looks like it's going to be a really fun week! My card will be mailed to a fellow teapotter...(I will try not to be late this time)

Here's my card for the challenge. However, I must say:
Summer school is NO fun
If you don't believe me ask anyone!
Counting numbers makes me run.
I'd rather count hogs and kisses
can't have just one.
So count those x's and o's
You'll get a number that these piggies chose.
Don't tell the teacher,
Don't tell Mudder,
And we'll get along
with one another.

Ok, it has been brought to my attention that I actually have 7 cakes instead of 6 on my card! LOL! I guess that means I need more ciphering work that any one else, huh? I hope I don't get kicked out of school on my very first day and first teapot challenge...ALTHOUGH, technically speaking, the cake in question is really a cupcake...hmm, yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking with it! LOl! Have a great one!
Hi Talented teapotters, I have been having trouble with my wrists and I feel awful that I have only commented on a fraction of the cards. The mouse seems to be causing me the most pain. Typing is ok. Some of the cards are so cute like the baby bracelet abacus by Broom Kim's adorable Queen Bee (hmm note to self I have to wear my tiara to the teaparties) Wanda's bright & bold graphic black, white & red design ConnieJo9's sweet sister's marking their height on the door jamb. SparklePlenty's sparkling plenty Patriotic red stars so a propos for the season and the gorgeous pink and green count your blessings card. stamps4funinCAclassy timepieces card ctorina's soft and elegant 1 in a million card sumtoy's birthday calculator Please don't feel neglected I do admire all your wonderful creations, I'm just getting old & decrepit.
loving the cards in the gallery for this. I love the funny ones! Actually, I like all of the cards. Must set aside some time this afternoon after class (its Wed morning in Sydney as I type this) to sit down and look at and comment on them all.
No story. I just like the stamp. It was from my stash of stuff I stamped up over the years at more than 15 stamp camps I have been too, and I have no idea which company it belongs to (possibly Hero Arts).
