-MD- August 27, 2011 Shoebox Swap in Bel Air, MD (Harford County)
We (Andrea & Lisa) are hosting another shoebox swap on Saturday, August 27, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., at: (please read the entire description)
The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd
1515 Emmorton Road
Bel Air, MD 21014
THEME:
There is no theme this time and we do require that all products must be made using Stampin' Up stamps, cardstock, inks, etc. Stamps and colors can either be current or retired.
SWAP:
There is room for 31 people (over 18 years of age please) to attend with each person bringing a shoebox swap for 30 people to make and something to share for lunch. There is a $12 non-refundable charge per person for hall rental, expenses, and pizza which will be collected before the day of the swap. All monies need to be in by Friday, August 19, 2011. If money is not received by this time, the waiting list will be opened up. Everyone who signs up must have a SCS ID to make this fair for everyone attending. If we happen to get more people to sign up then 30, we may have two groups, will keep you informed.
All cards are to be full cards. Please bring enough supplies for everyone to make your card including all cardstock, stamps, inks, embellishments, tools, etc., along with your own adhesive and scissors to use on all the projects we make. Please make sure all of your supplies are labeled with either your name or initials, so we all go home with the stuff we brought. We'd like each person to have a sample and typed instructions in their box telling how to make your card, and also have their swaps in baggies or envelopes containing everything each person needs to do your card. This really helps make the swap go more smoothly.
LUNCH:
We will be ordering Pizza for lunch and it would be appreciated if you could sign up to bring beverages, plates, napkins, desserts, salad and breakfast items. We do not have access to a kitchen.
There will be several door prizes throughout the day. And we are asking for card donations which will be used for our local hospital. These can be old swap cards, card fronts, or even one of the cards you are doing for the swap.
To sum up what youll need to bring for the shoebox swap: something to share for lunch/breakfast, and cards for the local hospital if you'd like to donate any. I am attaching a registration form that should be sent to me along with the $12 non-refundable charge.
Sign me up please. I will bring plastic forks. Do you have any cups left over from last time? If not, I will bring them too. I will also bring a couple bottles (2-Liter) of (diet) soda.

Wow! Hi everyone....so glad to see you all signed up. Andrea is out of town for a few days, and she is the technical one, so don't worry if you don't see your name added to the list right away. She will be home on Saturday and will add your name soon after that.

Wooo Hoooo, Hey Ladies
I am so glad to see the number climb with attendees.... as Lisa said I am out of town....Bean Town (Boston) that is. So welcome to all that I added and can't wait til August..... you know it is right around the corner.
Hey Lynn - Small plates are good for now. When we get closer to the date and if we need something, we'll let you know. Thanks for the offer. Philomena is so excited to see you again!
Hello Lisa and Andrea, I would like to attend and can bring a case of bottled water.
Looking forward to seeing you again and having an awesome day stamping.
Hey Linda
Got your payment and thanks for the extra cards. I am having a hard time keeping the girls focused... they are so close to finishing their Silver.
Andrea
Hi Karen - Sorry for the delay in answering. Your card can be any size you want, but if you are going to make an odd size, including the envelope would be nice but not necessary. Also, you can just make a card front as your sample instead of a full card. As far as envelopes, that is up to you. Some people put their card pieces in an envelope and other people use Ziploc or cellophane bags. I hope this helps. If not, let me know and I'll try to be more specific. We're looking forward to meeting you and bringing you into our cult (that's what my husband calls our swaps - a cult meeting !)
Carolyn
Welcome to the swap, so glad you signed up. If you have any questions feel free to contact us.... I have to admit the swaps are so much fun....nothing like food, chocolate and stamping.
