Limited Supply Challenge 26
It's Friday and time for another LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE!! Im your guest hostess for this week! Remember what it was like before you had a whole room full of stamping supplies? Let's see what everyone can come up with from this list. Remember that you can use any combination of things on this list, but you cannot use anything not listed below. When you upload your card to the gallery please put LSC26 in the keyword section and post a link to this thread so we can all go look. Everyone is welcome to play -even if you've never done a challenge before...please join us!!!
Inspiration for this challenge: My oldest stamp set sitting on the shelf collecting dust.
So here is the challenge: Let's pull out our oldest stamp/stamp set and make it new again. I've had Feathered Friends since I became a demo (set came in starter kit, on the recommendation of my upline) and have only used it once since I got it. Why? I thought is was a little dated. Doesn't have to be! Have you noticed on SCS how folks will change just one little element and you see a stamp set in a whole new light. Let's take our old stamps and make them "NEW" again.
The Supplies
Stamps: You oldest stamp/stamp set or any one you have that is sitting there collecting dust and looking pitiful
Cardstock: any color or combination of colors you like.
Ink: any
Accessories: ribbons, watercolor crayons, hemp, brads, paper clips and other household items, colored pencils, blender pen, or anything else that strikes your fancy
Techniques: any
Here are a couple of examples that I came up with. I pulled card ideas from the new catty.
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

I absolutely cannot wait to see what you wonderful, talented artists come up with.
Hugs!
Carla

Oh dear. My oldest set is Christmas Gift Tags  What am I going to do with that? My second oldest unused set is Flutterbys. That may be easier. Maybe I should do both. But, my new catty order may be finally arriving, today. I better do my errands quickly!

Here's mine..
I decided to start scrapping my 18 month old's baby book finally! He was born 13 weeks early so it took awhile to find the time and desire to do them! Thanks for the challenge.

I don't think I've ever posted here before, but I've done the other challenges a few times. I wanted to see if I could combine all the challenges this week and I came close...didn't have any dryer sheets. But I got the other four.
My oldest set was a toss up between Feathered Friends and Nice and Easy Notes. Since I just used Feathted Friends last week and we've already seen som wonderful examples with that, I chose N&E Notes. Not my favorite card, but I do like it. Have a looksie!

My oldest and first SU set is Wreath of Roses. I was *just* looking at it the other day and kind of laughing at myself bc I think it is so dated compared to some recent floral sets that I have purchased (like Mixed Bouquet and Heartfelt Thanks). I was wondering if I would ever use it again. I am gonna pull it out tonight and see what I can come up with. Great challenge!

I also love your idea of combining all the challenges for the week into one card. WOW... I never would have thought of that! Maybe our SCS moderators should come up with a special category --- like "Super Gouper" Weekly challenge or "This Was The Week That Was" or "Weekly Card Olympics" or...... dear me, I'm growing way to silly/stupid here with all the names. BUT, I really do like the idea.

My stampin bud - NEWINKER and I were just talking about doing this. OK, so she just got sucked in to SU at the beginning of the year, but I have been with it for over three. I'm going to blow the dust off a couple of those old sets and start stampin to hit this challenge.
Thanks for helping me dig deeper into the closet and pull out my sets that are thinking I've forgotten about them.

I'm working on my challenge now but I wanted to post a card I did with Nice and Easy Notes a few weeks ago. I had unearthed my set and decided to make something with it as I hadn't used in such a long time. I liked the way it turned out.

Hi everyone,
Here are are two that I did for the LSC. These are two sets I have had for quite a while but rarely use anymore--not sure why! I have some older sets but I still use them more often; these were my 2 dustiest (if that is a word?) These are really simple since I tried not to use tons of supplies.
Thanks for looking! Kathy

Here's Mine
Good Ole PSX stamps. I used to work at an AC Moore and was in charge of the stamps. I was in heaven! I could order whatever I wanted! Of course now, I hardly ever use them :(

Mine is *really* limited supplies - just ink, paper, and white ep. I would have used organdy ribbon if I had any. I used Wreath of Roses which was my 1st SU set ever:

I went to my 1st stampin up demo in Oct 2004. The 1st set I ever bought was Holiday Tag Team. I didn't make cards with it, I just used it to make tags for all the gifts. It just so happens that I pulled it out last week for SC34 and used it again for SC35. Many of you have probably already seen them but here they are just in case.

Oops! I used Sincere Salutations on this one.

OMG! I love it! I agree with the earlier comment, that a card you absolutely do not like, others will love! I was looking over this challenge, and thinking the N&E Notes was one of my first sets, too and I haven't used it in FOREVER! I used to have Feathered Friends, but sold it on ebay over a year ago when I really needed some cash. I regret getting rid of it, but it's likely to retire soon anyway. I'll have to take some time tomorrow with N&E notes, and see if I can come up with something!

Here's my card - Friendship Gardens wasn't my first set (my friend gave me Business Memos first and that's what got my hooked - strange, huh?) but I just HAD to have it! This is also my first try w/ my Watercolor Crayons... not the best job, but I'm learning. It was hard not to just use my fave Twinkling H2Os!

O.K. you guys! STOP IT!!!!! You're killin' me here! I look at all the wonderful things you guys are doing with these old sets and I'm thinking "I used to have that set, why didn't I hold onto it?!?!?" Stampers guilt all over the place - you know, for actually parting with a set. :( yuk, yuk
Naaah - keep it up! It is so fun to see all these old sets come out of hiding!

This was a hard one to choose a set for because I try to use all mine about the same amount. So I went with an older set (1997) and my son got it for me used along with another SU landscape set (Scenery 1992). I love them both but haven't used them in a few months.
I only cheated a little by using the ducks which aren't from the set but the card just had to have them.
Thanks Carla for the fun challenge and......
Here's my card

Great challenge Carla! Thanks so much for hosting this week! I haven't had a chance to stamp this week at all. I wanted to view all the challenge cards, but the gallery is currently down. I'll have to try again tomorrow.

Hi,
Do you know what happened to the above picture? Did yesterday's gremlins get it? Let me know what I should do.
Thanks.

Only a week late......
I started this card last week but (of course) got interrupted by something and forgot. I got the "Just moooved" cow stamp back in 1998 at my very first Stampin' Up party. I never have moved, but always use the cow's outline for something else. This was fun!!
