My name is Fie and I'm very new to scrapbooking and card making. In fact, I don't even have the tools of the trade yet. The idea came about when my fiance and I decided to make our own wedding invitations. I'm looking for ideas and inspirations, as well as to learns the techniques available.
Currently looking to purchase the basic machines like a Cuttlebug and Scor-Pal in Malaysia to start off my journey of card making, but unfortunately craft stores here have very limited choices. I'm crossing my fingers I'll find some hidden gems in the forum.
If you have any advice on how I should start building on this hobby, please feel free to give me some! ;) I think I really need it.
Check out our B/S/T forum as well - we do have people from your area on the site - maybe they can help hook you up with some fun stuff.

Hi Fie and welcome from New Zealand. I love your username! Pigment stamp pads in black, gold and silver are a great start. You can add other colours later but metallic colours are always useful.

I just purchased my CuttleBug v2, a tan embossing mat and the Martha Steward Scoring Board from Amazon. Amazingly, it was much cheaper to purchase online + plus shipping than the purchase such machine here. Very excited and I can't wait to get my hands on them.
Parkes: I'll probably pop over my nearest scrapbooking store and buy some metallic pigment stamp pads, like you suggested. Any particular brand I should look out for?
Hi Fie. Glad to hear you have bought a Martha Steward Score Board as that is what I have! As to what brand of stamp pad to get, ColorBox is a good brand and so is Encore and Brilliance. I have ColorBox Black and Gold, and Encore in Silver. Do you have any stamps yet?

Hi Stephanie. The MS Score Board was something I knew I had to have! Though, I heard the bone folder that comes with it is a little flimsy, are you using that?
I don't have any stamps yet. Not too sure of what kind I should get yet, but I'm going to try my luck at the B/S/T section to see whether I can get some pre-loved ones.
Hi Fie.The bone folder that comes with the MS scoreboard is smaller than normal but it is for scoring rather than folding. The fact that it is narrower means it makes nice crisp scoring lines. I have a larger bone folder for folding. Hope this makes sense!

Hi welcome Fie and you have come to the right place. I also just made my own wedding cards and it was so nice to be able to make something that everyone saw that I had made with my own hands. Good luck and congrats.
