Okay, who loves the new Tim Holtz grid blocks. I do. I got them last Friday and I think they are great. I am stamping much better with these blocks than any of the others I have.
They are thin, but I've used them with regular clear stamps and with foam mounted stamps. LOVE THEM!!!
What makes these special, in your opinion? You've got me curious! Is it how thin they are or the gridlines, or something else that you love. All information greatly appreciated!
I like thinner blocks too normally, but today I tried to stamp an acrylic stamp (I really don't have many acryllic's because I really don't like them), and the thinness of the stamp and the thinness of the block made my fingers go into the ink pad. Yuck. Green fingers! I am thinking my rubber unmounted stamps are a bit thicker and would work better with this block! Thanks for the info. I will check it out!
I know I would love the etched gridlines... and I raised an eyebrow at the thickness, but then thought... my gridded ruler from Tim is about that thick, and I use it as a stamp block at times, so... what's the difference? Great sizes too. Putting these on my 'list'.

That's what I discovered with mine... I think they are made more for use with the Stamper's Anonymous rubber on cling mount since they are thicker than clear stamps. I will definitely be using them for cling mount stamps but I am going to stick to my old blocks for clear.
I have always preferred blocks with grid lines, so I'm glad his new ones have them.
The new TH blocks are great for traveling since they are so lightweight!
I've used them with cling rubber stamps and photopolymer. The cling of course doesn't feel all that different because the stamp makes it closer to the thickness we're used to. It's very nice to be able to sense exactly where you've applied pressure.
I like them with photopolymer stamps, too -- again, you have a very precise sense of the pressure and ink transfer. I admit, it's a little bit tricky to not ink up your fingers, LOL!! But I did not have one mis-stamp with them, and I manage to get ink on my fingers no matter what ;^) !
They are great for taking with you, too - so light & compact.
