HI Jan - I did some digging - I found out that Scotch makes an adhesive tape called SNAIL Permanant Adhesive. It's a double sided tape in a dispenser. No clue on cost but I will dig around some more. I hope they don't totally eliminate all of the handheld adhesives. I DO like Hermafix though. More expensive than Mono for sure, but very easy to use.
HTH - Michelle :o
ya but if mono is less expensive will stick to it. I am not a demo though so I can do that, I think even if I was a demo (hoping to be within the next year) for my "at home" stamping I would still use the cheaper stuff just demo with the new stuff
Yes, I found that too, but only on sites that are in the UK! I checked the 3M site and could not find SNAIL in the product index. If you're curious what this looks like here's a link:
On further investigations, the Scotch product cannot be the one, because it is only a cute dispenser for Magic Tape, not an adhesive film like mono. This gets even more intriguing! Guess we won't know until convention!
I just heard this from a girl in my upline's group:
Quote:
Just got off the phone with DS and they said that 'snail adhesive' is
being replaced with Tag Sheets. They are trying to change it and upload
a new starter kit now. She had no idea what snail adhesive was. I also
told her that the Tag Sheets were already on the add-on and she was
perplexed. So I guess, hold on to your seats and wait for a new one to
be uploaded.

I also tried to do a search on what this adhesive was.... just like JanTInk, I didn't find much. As I looked at other scrapbooking adhesives, there are a few dispensers that look more snail like????? Oh well, only a few more days until we find out what this really is! :P
I just read this elsewhere and thought I should share it...
"I just spoke with Demo Support (called about something else) and asked about the Snail Adhesive. She said it is an error, we are still using Mono, and they are trying to add a set of tag sheets to the starter kit instead (??). Hope this answers some questions!"
The plot thickens! lol Demo Support could be right could be wrong. These are the same folks who told some of us that SU was not coming out with a Breast Cancer set. Now we know different. Can't imagine anything being better than mono tho. Hmmmm....come on new catty! :?

I just got off the phone with Demo Support. They didn't know whether Mono was discontinued or not, or if the Snail would even be a replacement. He said they have a board up that has a note on it for callers, it says "Snail adhesive isn't available Will replace with Tag Sheets." He said the two fragments don't seem to go togehter, but that's the way it's posted. And they are definitely two different products. He said something about Snail being repositionable, but he wasn't positive about that either. The DS operators aren't given the new catalog info so they can't answer questions that are supposed to be "secret" until the catalog is revealed. (hmmm, sounds familiar!!) Just thought you'd like to know
This is my first post here, so hope it comes through. I just ordered a whole pile of Mono Adhesives, they are just so perfect for card making in a snap. I sell them like crazy at my workshops because they are so handy. Hope we don't have a change!! I'm sure we'll adjust if we have to though.
Anybody see that the refill blades are no longer available? Does that mean that the paper trimmer is changing too? Boo Hoo! I don't like change too much!
This was a hot topic on several demo lists in the past couple weeks. I believe the final word (from demo service after they must have had a final meeting) was that SU! was carrying their own type of dispenser that holds the same mono refills. Kinda like we have Layer Ease which is really the Magic Matter, just an SU! name. Don't panic if you bought lots of mono refills (me too) cuz they should go in the new dispenser, really sounds like a "visual" type of change. Must go START my swaps now!!! I am the queen of procrastination!!!
