You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
Spring is almost here in the Northern Hemisphere! Now is a good time to do some spring cleaning in your crafting place so you'll be ready for the DT challenges!
To enter the competition for this Clean & Simple DT search, make a CAS card following the instructions below. And then post in this thread with a link to your card.
CHALLENGE #1
Inspiration Challenge: Be inspired by the word SHOWERS
Some examples: bridal showers, baby showers, rain showers, snow showers, umbrellas, etc... You are not limited to this list.
Style and beauty/cuteness is always important, but the CASness of the cards will be viewed heavily in the first elimination judging since basically it's challenging to keep it that way and there are a lot more cards I have to sadly eliminate. (Our current definition for a CAS card is near the bottom of this post.)
Keyword: CAS2011springDT1
(No spaces CAS 2011 spring DT 1 -- not good. If you are concerned about getting it right, copy & paste it into your keyword box.)
Please also post a link in this thread just in case there is an error with the keyword or if the gallery is being finicky on the judging days.
Submission Deadline: Thursday, February 24 @ Noon (EST) New Rules as of Fall 2010:
Please don't combine this challenge with any other current SCS challenge.
Please make only one card. (It's easier to narrow down the field this way.)

Sorry for the delay. Here's what you've been patiently waiting for. Let me explain something first. Normally, I narrow down the field to 20 which is half. There were fewer cards and I decided that it would be harder not to be chosen in a small group. So I went with the concept of half again. Sooooo....
COLOR Challenge:pink, kraft, chocolate plus white or vanilla
Style and beauty/cuteness is always important, but the CASness of the cards will be viewed heavily in the first elimination judging since basically it's challenging to keep it that way and there are a lot more cards I have to sadly eliminate. Can you believe we've been having these DT challenges for 2 years? Wow! CAS wouldn't be a success without you. Really. Have you noticed how the trend has exploded in the paper crafting world? And we were at the beginning of it all. Kind of gives me chills. Okay, it really does give me chills. *u* When I was young, I didn't think I had a creative thought worth sharing. Even when a person is creative, talent takes practice. I'm sure any athlete would tell you the same thing. So, don't give up! It's something I have to tell myself, too. Do you know that while I've hostessed a variety of challenges over the past 5.5 years, I've only been on 2 design teams? I finally had to sit back and relax about it before those came along. I'm now content to be a StampTV Centerstage (guest designer) alumni member doing blog hops for Gina K. and making other people's dreams come true here in the CAS forum.
I get so giddy and nervous by this point every season. You'd think I was one of the semi-finalists. LOL! Thank you for playing ladies! You are all worthy of being a design team member.
Okay... speech is done. On with the show in the next post!

Ways to Use It Challenge: Flowers Your card doesn't have to have stamped flowers. You can use punches, die cuts, primas, etc. Let your creativity flow!

Darn Jen, I was hoping to play, but will be on a little mini vacation this week. I will be looking forward to seeing all the great entries and the exciting results of the winners for your spring team. I have become such a fan of the CAS style just because of you and your fabulous challenge and threads. Thanks Jen for all that you do :-)
I couldn't resist playing along, Jen. What a fun challenge. I've been trying to learn how to make CAS cards... they don't come easy for me! lol Would love to be considered for a guest spot.
Here's my card: Showers of Blessings.
