Ahhh l'amour! It can strike at any age and we're going to go way back to your first love . . . not high school, not even grade school, but that very first innocent attachment.
My inspiration came from that old Sesame Street video, "Put Down the Duckie." You can find the video on youtube here. Ernie loooooved his rubber duck and all kids have some animal, blanket or creature that makes their 'heart sing' at a young age.
My oldest daughter has a bunny who has traveled with her around the world. My son had a wolf, the middle child has a bear and my youngest also has a bear. When she was really little my oldest had a creature we called nook nook, which looked sort of like an ostrich with curved legs and a hook on its head that was easy for small, chubby fingers to grasp. We lost it once, oh heavens! I combed the stores until I found a new one.
My challenge is to use either the image or a symbol on your card of either your 'first love' from childhood or one of your kids' 'first loves;' whatever that was, bear, duck, elephant, lion, or nook-nook. And please tell us what that first love was in your description..
1. ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON Monday February 28.
2. You have 45 minutes to complete the challenge.
3. Please remember to put in the correct keyword, FEB11VSNI, when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in this chat thread to be sure you layout is seen.
So I chose the "baby cow" my son drug around when he was little....first...here's a photo (this is from quite a long time ago! LOL) of my kiddos....and my son has "baby cow" in order to even sit for the photo! LOL
The card is supposed to reflect that first lovie that your kids dragged around the house? ... well, David had a plaid blanket. He loved that thing to shreds. Finally one day I cut it in half --- and had half to wash while he dragged the other half. Then another day I cut those in half ... till finally he was dragging around a 10 inch square of blanket. Ahhh they were easy to fool in those days.
Amanda had a stuffed giraffe that we still have packed away, not sure what we are saving it for.
And Steve was the child responsible for me being able to recite the story of " Goodnight Moon" by heart.
Sigh ... they are so big now ... I wonder if any of them have the memories I have stashed away!

I have a pot of hot water boiling . . . that's how far I've made it towards dinner. Now as to what I should put IN the pot . . . that's still under debate. I'm leaning towards ravioli, its simple!
Oooh -- this one was great! I had to think waaayyyy back (my oldest is 48, my baby is 41, and there's a 45 year-old in the middle). Here's my card -- Larry the Lion.

Oh My goodness! This brought up some memories! When I first found I was pregnant with my eldest son I bought this lovely soft blue bunny with a fabric body, I was sure my baby was a boy. I was then told that my baby was going to be a girl. I put the bunny away in a cupboard. When my baby was born and he turned out to be a Joshua rather than a Jessica I was thrilled I had kept the bunny! The bunny went every where for many years and has only been put away this last year when my baby boy started to go through his room ready for going off to university - he will be nineteen mid March!
