Default sakura quickie glue pen -

My quickie glue pen won't work... Does anybody have an idea about how to get it going again?

I have the same problem. It's a new one. I tried heating it carefully with a heat gun but had to stop before it melted. I gave up but still have it so would also appreciate any hints.

How about a small pin inserted into the tip?

It's actually like a ball-point pin, so that won't work. Good thought, though! Thanks!

I am surprised - maybe its a dud... I have had the same one for almost 3 years (I have little time to play due to having a 3 yr old special needs child). If I was you- call and complain to the compant, especially the person with a new one. I just checked mine out after reading this posting and mine works just fine and it hasn't been used in almost 6 months or more. I use my Xyron sticker maker the most now- it saves time to add adhesive to many diecuts at the same time.

Good luck- I hope you either find a way to make your quickie pen work or get a replacement from the company that makes it.

I've only had trouble once with mine and I got a paper towel wet and scribbled on it a bit then on paper. It took a few tries and then it worked great. Since it has been super with no problems.

Good luck.

I had the same trouble.

Next time I wanted a glue pen, I bought a Martha ball point pen.
The Martha glue pen has a "squeeze" area where you hold the pen. If you need a little more glue or if the glue stops flowing, you can apply pressure to push it out.

Just rub the tip with your nail and then scribble a bit until the glue starts flowing.

How about some rubbing alcohol? Maybe that might dissolve some of the glue. Does the roller ball tip roll or is it stuck in place?

Was going to suggest rubbing alcohol also... I've heard that it works great with gel pens, so it might work with the glue pen...

The tip doesn't roll, it's stuck in one place. I finally threw mine out and started again with a fresh one that does work. Next time it happens I will try the rubbing alchohol though. Thanks for the suggestion!! Karen

I have found that after use I pinch the tip of the pen with my fingers to remove glue, place the cap on and set it to where the tip (glue exit point) is facing UP... NOT DOWN... I have thrown away 6 quickie's as they froze shut! LOL (OK NOT LOL at the time!) it has worked for me and I actually have a quickie that is almost EMPTY

Have a great time in P.T. tomorrow. It's cold but it was sunny and blue sky today. I don't know what the forecast is for tomorrow. I just know I enjoyed the sky today.

I just found your post. I also had same problem with 2. I could bubbles moving so knew stick still good. After trying many things I GOT IT!!!!!!!!Heres what I did:

pull cartridge with tip still on out of stick. You'll see a small gap at base of white part of top of cartridge. Pry that off. I took a pin and put in whole. A bit of glue had dried up. Not hard but sticky/gooey. I swirled pin around and got out bad glue. Put back together. lightly tap tip of pen on paper. If you slighty lift you should feel, I also heard, the ball going in and out as ever so slightly lifted off paper. hold pen to paper and glue should slightly start flowing. move slowly on paper and glue began to flow.

I am going to try storing with tip up versus down which is what I was doing.

I have tried and forgotten numerous times over years to get flowing and refused to throw out. I am glad i didn't. Even though we are talking about less that $10 this fix is so worth it made my day. Had to post this as my frustration versus many other peoples I hope I made others day. ENJOY!!!!

Default Thanks Missy H

Thank you Missy H,
I just did what you said, Had to do it a few times though, and in the end I have now finally got it going, but I did end up pulling out the roller tip as it was screwed up.But it is flowing now, I have it upside down in the pen holder now and will see what happens next time I go to use it.Thanks again I hope it works next time i go to use it.
Regards
irene

I never would have thought to store them tip up. But it makes sense. Thanks for the tip!

Better turn mine tip side up. So many pens are recommended to store the opposite way or horizontally.
