Who makes stuff that "encourages" you to buy a particular product? Sometimes I love a stamper and follow his or her blog, but don't buy what he/she is demonstrating simply because it isn't my style or I don't have the talent to use that style product.
So I'm wondering -- who gets you to actually buy stuff?
I'll be back later with my list of enablers but I'm curious to see your list!

Jennifer McGuire is probably my main "enabler", LOL. Thanks to her, with co-enabling honors going to Beate Johns, I have every color of Distress Ink and not enough places to put them. Becca Feeken is also starting to "enable" me to buy things I will never be able to use as well as she does!
Number one on my list is my SU demonstrator, who has now become a great friend! Every month we have a card class. Every month I come to card class with my order ready. Every month I get there and do the cards she has made. AND every month I change my whole order before I leave!!!
CardMaker magazine and PaperCrafts magazine...when they use paper and inks etc that I already have in stock, gets me excited to be able to CASE a card almost perfectly and then I want their next magazine!
I think I am my own worst enabler. I see all these beautiful creations from blogs, to design teams, to catalogs, to my LSS. And then I think I can buy this type of creativity by buying the products that they produce/promote/use. And I can't.
But that somehow doesn't seem to stop me.
But if I had to pick a few people, one would definitely be you, Joan. I love your clean and simple and less is more style. And I see you use those divine WaltzingMouse and Shade Tree Studio stamps and I think "I can do that!" so I order them. But mine never come out looking like yours, which is a shame. Yours look so much better than mine! LOL~

YOU!;)
Actually I surf around different blogs alot and when something catches my fancy.....Watch out! Plus I do check out Two Peas (like Jimmi) and will always click on - What's Hot!
Good question! I don't know if I could name one particular person. But usually work shown on the Hero Arts blog, the Clear & Simple Stamps blog, and in several company Flikr galleries I am a member of will inspire me to buy something.
Also, my fellow DT members over at i {heart} papers and Card Patterns are always using supplies in ways I never thought of.
And, like Jimmi said, I find browsing the "new items" listing on my favourite online shops to be inspiration enough to make a purchse most times!
A lot of people but the two who stand out for me is Paula Williamson (Bella Babe) and Kim van der Sanden (Owner of MFT).
Paula has a way with colored pencils that makes everything a must have! Of course Stamping Bella is one of the three places I spend the majority of my money any way. :-)
Kim is just talented and I love her stamps. She has an amazing team too.
Nichole Heady is the person who gets me to buy the most. I love her stamps and her designs.
I also love the creations of the Flourishes design team. They do such beautiful coloring work. They are the reason I got into Copics and their stamps.
Most of the design team at Gina K. The two that stand out the most to me, because of their style, are Melanie Muenchinger and Theresa Momber. But there are others that quite often jump out at me, including Gina herself. She can pull off the clean and simple much better than I can. And the fact that they are promoting excellent products doesn't hurt, either.
Another stamper whose work I admire a lot is JanTink. She has a way of putting colors together that I would never come up with. And she is SU only, and has enabled me many times to buy a set that I would never have considered otherwise.

First, Lateblossom... I bought my first set of PTI stamps because of her... and I've never looked back.
Second, Sue Nelson... embossing folders.
Third, Becca Feeken... Nestabilities... need I say more?
And so many other fellow stampers here on SCS... thanks, guys!

For me it is Becca Feeken ! I see things and can't imagine wanting them, then she makes a fantastic project with them and I want them. Of course Nesties and many I had not planned to buy. I made my first Our Daily Bread Designs purchase because of cards I saw Becca do. I also bought a couple of stamps from Quietfire because of Becca used them . I saw my first Tilda on Becca's site and I bought several of them. I saw my first JustRite stamps on her site and I have quite a few of those too. Oh and I bought MS punches I saw on her site.
I regularly look at several other sites and no one enables me as much as Becca Feeken.
Hands down Nicole Heady for me. Her eye, creativity, and talent inspire and amaze me with every post she does on her blog. Plus I love that as a designer she takes careful consideration of all the ramifications of her design work which makes everything she comes up with go together so well. If I were a rich woman, I'd own everything she sell and need (almost) nothing else!

Good question, Joan. The last time I bought something as a direct influence of another stamper was after JulieHRR posted a card using washi tape. She conveniently included a link to an Etsy store that sold it, and I caved. Most of the time, however, the people who influence my purchases don't provoke instant buying...it's more of an "over time" sort of influence. You, for example, have me almost to the point of placing my first order with Waltzingmouse. But then, I rarely do impulse buying anymore. The washi tape was all Julie's fault.
Where can I see the work of "Nicole Heady" so many are raving about ?? I am always open to seeing new designers LOL
You will find her here, with a permanent link at the bottom of the Papertrey Ink site. The entire design team is inspiring.
When I think of "enabling" in the classic SCS lingo, I assume you mean those that inspire us to buy something, Joan. Or can be counted on to steer us to the latest/greatest/coolest products.
I have recently discovered that Blockheads Paper Arts site is amazing for this! There is a newsletter and techniques page and really impressive product listings ~ the descriptions are filled with how-tos and ideas. You aren't just given the usual manufacturer spiel for an item ~ the folks at Blockheads will tell you how it's used and tips. This is a fabulous resource!!!
Also, Ellen Hutson's blogs which you can find at her website here
with link buttons at the bottom of the page. Amazing. Almost every entry can have me checking out the supply list. And I just saw, getting the link to share here, that there is now an e-zine!
Speaking of magazines, I have one word for enabling there: Stampington. Take Ten, Stamper's Sampler. . . they are all beauties. Although I used to crave new stamps, lately it seems what catches my eye are the styles and techniques and how to achieve them.
As far as individuals, thanks to SCS, there are far too many to list in their entirety, but the first that come to mind are Claire Brennan, JulieHRR, and Debbie Olson and Anna Wight.
Thanks for starting the thread for all of us who love to be enabled, Joan ;^) !

Love the story of your SU orders, muscrat!! Been there :^) .

Your cards may not look like someone else's, but I just went to your blog and you make BEAUTIFUL cards, Deb!!!!
I remember specifically buying a few Copics because of Debbie Olson, but then saw Julie Ebersole use them to color brads. Sold.
Julie's review of the Big Shot sold me on that.
Claire Brennan at Waltzingmouse got me to try Ranger Distress Inks to shade the edges of my cards and now I am in love with them (even though I only have 2 so far)
Kristina Werner enabled me to buy gobs of kraft cardstock and white gel pens.
Laurie Schmidlin sold me on Versafine ink.
Leslie Miller -- watercolor paper and paints and Flourishes stamps
I could go on and on!!!

I buy just about every Hero Arts stamp I see Susan Raihala use. Maile Belles is another big enabler for me. I don't even want to count the stamps and products I've bought after seeing Debbie Olson's creations. Debbie has cost me A LOT of money. LOL.
Well, there are lots of Enablers here on SCS and on lots of Blogs that I follow.
Sue Nelson aka Susie B here on SCS
Judi Rose aka jovialjudi here on SCS
And there are blogs by Laurie Schmidlin, Sarah Fewings, Claire Brennan, Susan Raihala, Elizabeth Allan, Katarina (Watermelon Sugar) - I am sure lots of these people post here but I don't know there names on SCS - and lots and lots of other blogs that have my fav stamp companies - oh my gosh - this post could go on and on and on....... honesly, there are so many amazing people out there.....and so many 'Enablers'!!
If you are talking about buying things I am my own enabler. But if you are talking about using what I have bought, then it's my mum. I have so much stuff that I don't even know I have it and alot of times there are just too many to use that I stick to something simple and never use them.
I have a few... They may not be obvious because I don't necessarily create in the same style as them, but they definitely influence me BIG TIME!
Nichole Heady.... Like others have mentioned, her creativity is astounding. I buy her stamps because of her. Joanne Basile.... She single-handedly inspires me to use and buy more patterned papers. Dawn McVey.... Amazing colour combos and inventive use of embellishments makes my buy buttons, felt, twine, you name it!

I love Papertrey Ink products so Nichole Heady and the PTI design team are my enablers. But if I had to name just one person, it would be Betsy Veldman. I've purchased many PTI stamps sets after seeing what she's created with them. She's also a Paper Crafts Go-to Gal and she is so amazingly creative.
I blame all my friends at the PTI forums, Claire at WMS, anyone who colors pretty with copic markers.... I surf alot and if I see something I like I generally want to buy it.
Last but not least my husband is the biggest enabler of all. He always has something in his hand for me to craft with when we go out shopping. Serious as all get out. He loves the craft store as much as I do.

Thanks Diana! When I saw that I was mentioned with so many other OUTSTANDING crafters...I was honored and thankful. I too, look, see product and gotta have it. It's a dangerous world out there in the bloggin'/craftin' community with inspiration at every click of the mouse.
