Default Idea but don't know how to make it come to life...

ARGGGG this is making me bonkers...

I have to make an Easter card for a card swap I am in - I have all the elements in my head...

Bunny from Tags and More
Happy Easter from All Year Cheer (one of the reasons I choose to do an Easter card so I would have a reason to use this stamp)

My idea is to do a shaker using cut up Easter Grass (already cut the Easter Grass into little pieces and made sure to stick my tongue out at hubbie when he gave me a weird look as I was doing it)

so I have the idea I just can't figure out how to layout the card - side fold, top fold - what colors to use - pinks, greens, yellows. If I do the shaker where to place it....

Does this happen to anyone else - you have this "IDEA" but then get stuck when it comes to actually doing it...this is so silly getting stressed over a card

This happens to me ALL the time. That is why most of my cards are CASEd from others. But, I'm sure that you will get some great ideas from everyone else.

Hey, if you stuck your tongue out at the hubby you're more than halfway there!

I hate it when I'm laying in bed and think of a great idea. But when I sit down the next day and try it, it never seems to look like what I had envisioned. Sorry I don't have any ideas for you. But just feelin' for ya!

Good luck!

What about a top folding card, with a long skinny shaker along the whole bottom edge, then stamp the bunny as if he was bouncing along a field of grass (the grass being the shaker part, of course).

It's a great idea to use something unique in a shaker card - I hope you post whatever you finally create!

This would be cool as a tri-fold card, with the shaker box overlapping the opening. I would use a pink and green.

I've done that bunny with Pretty in Pink and Sage Shadow. I like this combo for easter. But how green is the grass? I would try to match the green color and use a pink that compliments that shade.

Or, if you don't want to use so much paper for a tri-fold (since I'm sure you have to make plenty) here are two ideas:

If you do top fold it looks nice to have the focus on the left, greeting on the right and ribbon tied around the top.

Side fold, I'd go with the basic. Shaker on top half, greeting on bottom half, ribbon on the side.

If you have Fresh Fillers, the flowers background stamp goes really well with this bunny. Then stamp the greeting over it. Am I making sense?

Remember to just play with the elements by placing them on the paper before adhering them to see what looks good and balanced to you.

Be sure to post your card!!! Good luck!

OK, out on a limb, but here's my idea, with the elements you listed:

Cut card stock to 4 1/4 x 11". Score in the middle as if making a vertically opening card.

Turn it sideways, tho, to make it a side-opening card (landscape).

Trim off a portion of the card front to expose the inside of the card back; you can tear it or my favorite is to use decorative scissors along that edge. Then, sponge it for contrast, etc. OR, apply glue and glitter, etc. to emphasize it! : )

Now, assuming the shaker is square shaped or not overly elongated? I would center it on the front panel, stamp greeting directly below. Embellish gutter crease with ribbon, maybe? Or, punch holes near the gutter, set eyelets and then run fibers through 'em?

OR, if shaker is more rectangular, try off-setting it to the upper left at a slight angle and stamp greeting towards lower right, but keep it in line with the edge of the card, don't angle it.

HTH,

I like the shaker of grass on the bottom of a top opening or Julie's landscape side opening card. Hope to see the posting soon.

Maybe you could make some tiny colored "eggs" to put in the shaker with the grass. That popped into my head the minute I read your original idea.
