TLC 303 - Deck your cards with some Sponging.. (12/13/10)
Fala la la laaaa.
Hello, I'm your guest hostess today. So is everyone ready for Christmas? I'm not but my gift to you is an easy technique that surprisingly we haven't done before (at least not that we could find)... SPONGING! I love to sponge but in case you have never sponged, I have listed a few different ways you can sponge:
cut & tear sponges for different texture
use different amounts of pressure to get darker or lighter effects
use sponges either dry or slightly dampened with water
tapping, smudging, smearing & circular motions
flicking edges of cardstock
sponge around paper masks
sponge through paper doilies, lace or netting for a delicate Victorian look
sponge grass in several shades of green & applying different amounts of pressure
sponge around die cuts to create silhouette
make stencils using different craft punches - sponge through them.

Thanks so much for taking it easy on us this week. I just finished my card for Teapot Tuesday and I sponged this so I'll take a really easy week and post for both challenges with the one card! Hard to tell I'm pushed for time. I really appreciate all of you that host these challenges for us throughout the year. It's a huge commitment and this busy time of year your effort is doubly appreciated. I'll be back tomorrow.
Cheers, Elizabeth
Thanks for a great challenge today. I only recently started having success with sponging and enjoy using it a lot. I really like your list of different ways to sponge. It will keep me from getting in a rut, doing the same old thing over and over.
I haven't had time to do challenges much lately. Lots going on during the Christmas season. Hopefully, most of it will be done after this week - except for getting together with my daughter on Christmas.

Thanks for one of my favorite things to do challenge. I love to sponge. Here's my card for today. So happy it's a snow day here in Cleveland, and that's the BEST way to celebrate my birthday! LOL

Perfect timing...I just finished a card yesterday that was all about sponging. It's actually the first technique that I learned and is still, by far, my favorite! Thanks for the awesome challenge, Amber!
