I was just on a blog and they used a PTI die. I didn't know there were PTI dies. So I ambled over to the PTI website and was looking them over.
Do they work in a cuttlebug? Are they easy to use? They seem to be a very good price. Do you have to purchase the stamp sets too or can they be used alone?
Seriously, there were a couple or three or four that I really liked but I don't want to purchase them until I've read some reviews on them.

I have a couple of the PTI dies. I use them in a Big Shot, but I would say they work in the cuttlebug, too. I purchased both the stamp sets and the dies, but you don't have to purchase the stamp sets. The dies work well for me.
They work great in a Cuttlebug! I use the same sandwich I use for my nesties (A, B, cardstock, die, C) They're just as easy to use as nesties and they're very high quality dies. You can buy the stamps to match, but several of their dies are quite versatile on their own.
I really like my PTI dies and impression plates. The dies cut nice and clean and most of them are a decent size (no itty bitty pieces to fight with!) I would definitely recommend them to anyone.
I have several of the PTI dies that I love and use in my CB. I have both sizes of ric rac and the eyelet die.
I will say that the longer border type dies hang over the back edge of the CB plates when you run them through. You can only cut a piece as long as the plates are, not the complete length of the die. It's not a problem, since I use them for borders on cards, and the pieces cut are plenty long for that.
If you wanted to make a border that was as long as the die is, you would need the extended size plates for the CB.

Several of my favorite stamp companies are now producing dies just like the Papertrey ones I love. MFT, ODB just to name a few...lots of choices..oh and Heartfelt creations. I love the Cardinal die I got...
blessings.
I've been stuck so long in my nestie world that I didn't realize there were other companies that made such cool dies. I will have to check out MFT and ODB and Heartfelt. The last one I've never heard of.

Ok the Cardinal set is Prickley Pear...I made Christmas cards with the stamp set and cardinal die this year. Heartfelt Creations is the place that sells some of them.
blessings.

Oh, I love the Cardinal set too!! Lol, I love them all, actually. But the cardinal set is so elegant!
I have been retired for 10 years and I may need to go back to work just to keep up with this hobby
How do you use the die and stamp combos? Do you stamp first and then cut or cut first and lineup the stamp??
Amber did you use the Prickley Bear Cardinal or the Heartfelt Creations Cardinals ?? I see there are two companies with Cardinal stamps and coordinating dies

I have several of the PTI dies and coordinating stamps. I love them! I diecut the shape first and then stamp on that. Since PTI's stamps are clear, they are easy to line up on the die shape. My favorites so far are Mat Stack 1, the Vintage Ornament dies and the Christmas tree die. Maybe that's because I've been using them so much lately! My favorite paper for these is from Mark's Finest Papers, the Snow Storm Smooth. I've had great results with all of the PTI dies.

I love the PTI dies and their yummy cardstock. I have several and they work beautiful in my cuttlebug. You can find lots of ideas for their dies on PTI's website and also follow the designer teams blogs. Waiting on a new shipment of the last release now. I'm excited!!!
I have picked out several PTI dies that I want. I want them really bad. I'm going to get them and tell my DH that they're my Christmas present. He'll believe that. I think. Ha! I so sneaky. I learned that from being a member of this forum. Sneaky, sneaky, sneaky!

I used the cardinal that has the musical notes on it..I believe it was Prickly Pear...I do have my eye on the other set too though...I will try to post a picture this evening. They turned out pretty nice. So much I want to get...and just not enough $$$ to go around.... I usually do the die cut first and find it very easy to stamp with the clear stamps.
blessings.
