I'm ready to take the plunge. I don't want the electric machine. I've been surfing it for weeks now and hope that somewhere there will be an awesome sale (and decent shipping prices) later this week. OR - I'll just run and pick it up! *crosses her fingers and toes*
I believe the Big Shot is a sturdier machine than the Big Kick.

I mentioned this in the Big Shot Pro email on this same forum as well, but I got an email from Joann.com saying that all Sizzix machines and accessories ONLINE will be 50% off on Thanksgiving Day (NOT Black Friday). Joann.com retails the Big Shot for $99.99, so it would be just under $50. I'm sure you could google to find a free shipping coupon.
I don't think the deal applies to stores, just online.
Joann's shipping can be on the slow side, although it usually gets to me within a week. I wouldn't count on it arriving by the first night of Hanukkah, but you'd probably have it by the 3rd or 4th night ;-)
The offer is only good till supplies last. I'm planning on staying up on Wednesday night to order as soon as the clock strikes midnight. Their site is also notorious for going down when there is a rush of people. That being said, my orders have always been right (no missing items), packaged well, and usually arrive with in a fairly timely manner. I think they ship from the middle of the country, so you might luck out with transit time since you're in Texas.
It's on sale online at Joanns for $59.99, I'd also check Sizzix.com, they have some good deals on just the machinesm as well as package deals. The few Sizzix dies I own, I purchased ther....way cheap.

I also got the Joanns flyers for the next two weekends, and my store is 125 miles away. I will have about $40 to spend, and I can't get there until Dec 2nd. Makes me want to break down and cry ! All I have is a Cuttlebug, and I would be thrilled to have the Cricute Create (if that's the V2) Shoot, I'd take the v1 if I could afford that ! POINT IS...don't miss the Joann sales and coupons if you have a store near you.

You may want to look at Sizzix.com. They have value packs on the Big Shot machine which might interest you if you are just getting started. Mine came with the extender spacer and plates as well as an alphabet strip set and a border die. It was 89.99 and I got free shipping. They also have loads of dies in their online outlet - many are around 3.00. Good luck!
