Default Have you ever had a Copic marker

come apart?

I took the cover off of one of my Sketch Copic markers tonight and the whole inside of the pen came out. I put the marker back together and DH tried to push the marker back together as tightly as possible, but each time I take the cover off it starts to come apart. Has anyone had this problem before?

The marker is fairly new and it hasn't been used very much. I have some covers that need to be tugged a bit to come off. Now I am worried that other markers will come apart if I have to work to get the cover off. Anyone have this happen, and if so, how did you solve the problem? TIA

The nibs are replaceable so maybe it just isn't seated right?

Thanks for your reply. It wasn't the nib that came out, but the whole inner workings of the marker. I think we put it back together correctly, but I don't know for sure, since I don't think they are suppose to come apart. The lack of response to this thread makes me think no one else has experienced this problem, and maybe I have a defective marker. I have contacted Copic and will see if they respond back to me. I will be bummed if I got stuck with a "bad" Copic.

Sorry to hear about that annie, I have never had any problems with my copics and I have 250+....sounds like a defective marker. Hope the manufacturer can help you...maybe you can contact who you purchased it from for them to replace it?

Just read this thread... even in all of my experience with the markers, I've never heard of this happening. I was going to suggest contacting Imagination International Inc. (COPICMARKER.COM). It sounded like a defective marker. Glad to hear that they are replacing it for you.

never heard of such of thing. Sounds like you got a real defective marker. I think the manufacturer would replace that or if you got it at a major place like Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Jo Anns, often the larger size stores will take them back as they can go back to the manufacturer with defective products.

I have a TON of copics and have never seen such a problem. Sorry to hear that.

Cheers, Holley
