Default Favorite Red Ink for Christmas?

I'd like to know everyone's favorite "Christmas" red ink to use on projects for the holidays, cards, etc.

I think I would like an ink that works for both rubber and clear stamps. I've tried a couple of red pigment inks that don't look vibrant red when stamped, but kind of washed out and faded.

What are your suggestions, please?

Default red ink

My favorites are cherry cobbler, riding hood red and real red from Stampin UP (all matches their paper too)
and black cherry stazon

I'll add cranberry crisp in there also. Just depends on what other colors of CS I'm using. HTH.

SU Cherry Cobbler is my favorite Christmas red. But for a true red with great coverage on all types of stamps particularly large solid stamps, I love Versafine Satin Red.

Cherry cobbler is GREAT!! But it may not do well on clear stamps - for clear I use Memento's Rhubarb Stalk.

I wanted to add cranberry crisp in there too, but alas they always retire my favorite colors....true thyme and cranberry crisp were my favorite holiday colors..but cherry cobbler is pretty good too

For a rich, vibrant red, I love Brilliance Rocket Red. It's a quick drying, permanent pigment ink and it's waterproof (you can use watercolors & even bleach and it won't be affected). Works well w/ rubber or clear stamps.

For a no-fail red, try Colorbox Fluid Chalk in Warm Red.

It's a game-changer for clear stamps because it gives even coverage and doesn't bead up. I think it's just a shade warmer than a true red, pairs beautifully with brown or black, and appears bright on kraft cardstock. The only downsides are that it can blur extremely fine details and isn't as embossable as a pigment ink. Here's a sample from my gallery that shows how well it stamps on kraft with clear stamps from Inkadinkado (even my favorite Memento dye inks bead up a bit on this set).

Thanks for all these other suggestions, too.

And, Sarah, your example is lovely. That red ink really does do well on kraft paper, which I am using more and more these days. Thanks.

I've always been a fan of Palette inks:

Palette Hybrid

I love Moulin Rouge for a deeper, more vintage look. And L'Amour Red is a bit brighter.

Then if you want that candy cane red shade, I like PTI's Pure Poppy ink sold here:
Papertrey Ink - Perfect Match Palette Hybrid Ink

I like Memento's Lady Bug as well. It goes well with SU's Poppy Parade cardstock. Vivid Brick Red is a good ink too, but I've never tried Vivid ink with clear stamps so I'm not sure how that will work.

I've been using Colorbox Cranberry for my Christmas cards. I like that its a dark red, but doesn't have a brown tinge to it.

Colorbox Scarlet, Ruby, Cranberry, or Magenta. Embossed with clear embossing powder.

And, not the best example but a card using the red ink and clear embossing powder:

I really like Archival crimson red. Stamped some peppermint candies with this (embossed with Transcendence clear embossing powder). It worked very nicely.

And the winner is......... Versafine Red!

Thanks for all the recommendations, ladies. I had to order it online, but it arrived quickly. I've already used it for sets of fancy tags for gifts, and I'm working on 10 of those cute tissue box covers.

Check out the tutorial in the Resource section:Splitcoaststampers - Tutorials

And here's pics in the Gallery:Stampin Up! Gallery: Tissue Box Cover by barb6372 - Page 1 - Cards & More - Splitcoaststampers

Thanks, Julie, for this suggestion. I needed a new red. And, WOW, is this one ever vibrant! I love it. And my LSS had the reinker available, which is a very good thing. I never (almost never) buy an inkpad without getting the reinker at the same time.
