I have been looking for some banner stamps and dies. This month, PTI is releasing big ones, little ones and everything in between. I just added more to my PP account, but I don't know if it will get there in time! Those things sell out in no time and these look really, really tempting! I hope they stocked up good on those babies cuz I want some too! I love banners and yes, of course, I could cut triangles out by hand or make a template...but why!? I love the borders for them too. Gotta stay up late tonight!
And by Midnight the 15th...that's actually TONIGHT at midnight (EST) rolling over to the 15th. At 11pm EST, they show the full product descriptions so you have an hour to shop and make your decisions before the purchasing can begin. And be patient...the website can get VERY bogged down when everyone is trying to buy right at midnight! Good luck!
I tried to order the banner dies at 12:08 and they were sold out. I can't believe that. Are they so pitiful at predicting demand? This seems to happen every month and I am surprised that a business would underorder every month for anticipated demand. It doesn't seem like good business practice to me. I was really hoping to get the large triangular banners and toppers so that I could make some holiday banners. I did manage to fill up with other goodies, but really, 12:08????
Well one...they opened up a few minutes BEFORE midnight which isn't fair to those who aren't hanging on the computer. I actually completed my order by 11:55. I got the banner stamp set and the die set to match but not the larger set. I've made larger banners before and have a template I use for the triangles and have used border punches trimmed to size of the triangle top. I contemplated getting the dies but figured it is probably just as easy to cut them by hand. They did have a note on their website before the release party that they didn't order a lot of the large sizes but based on feedback through forums the week prior, they were anticipating an early sellout and already had more on order that would hopefully be available to ship this week. If you still want them, you can probably get them in a couple of days. I agree though, a LOT of their stuff sells out so why don't they order more to begin with? I know it must be hard to anticipate how much of each type but they'll sell them eventually! They create all this hype and then there is a letdown when they sell out. So sorry you didn't get everything you wanted. :(
So, do these things sell out -- as in, you won't be able to get them EVER -- or do they go to backorder and you have to wait until the next shipment?
If they sell out, then I don't see myself ever even starting a collection of their dies/stamps. Why bother when you can be halted mid-collection (or worse, before you can even get your hands on things!) due to the item being sold out for good in under 10 minutes?

PTI doesn't do backorders, but they don't retire things either. All stamps and dies that sell out are reordered and stock will be back soon. Hope that helps!
